This is a key, remote position responsible for more than preparing quantity takeoffs. The successful candidate will serve as a technical resource for estimating, project management, and operations teams and help establish the company’s estimating standards, production rates, historical cost database, and reinforcing-steel preconstruction process. The role requires substantial hands-on reinforcing-steel industry experience and the ability to independently review structural drawings and specifications, perform takeoffs, develop labor and material pricing, understand detailing requirements, identify constructability issues, and assess project costs and risks. The position covers rebar estimating and detailing, preconstruction and operational support, and development of the estimating/detailing function. The candidate will prepare and review estimates, placing drawings, and bar lists; coordinate reinforcing steel with other project requirements; support project turnover, project managers, and field personnel; and develop procedures, tools, quality controls, and benchmarks. The role may eventually assume responsibility for the company’s reinforcing-steel estimating/detailing function. The position is full-time and remote, with periodic travel to project sites and company meetings. It reports to the President / Executive Management.
