About The Position

Quest Global is seeking a Senior Quality Engineer to lead quality engineering and test automation efforts. The role focuses on designing and executing a comprehensive automation strategy, transitioning manual testing to a scalable automated framework, and ensuring that quality is integrated throughout the software development lifecycle. The engineer will implement end-to-end, integration, and API tests, integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines, and contribute to technical decisions about testing strategy and practices. The position works cross-functionally with developers, project managers, and DevOps in a complex, matrixed organization.

Requirements

8–10 years of experience in QA Engineering, Software Development in Test (SDET), or a related software development role.
Hands-on experience leading the transition from primarily manual testing to an automated testing culture.
Strong programming skills in Java or Python.
Experience with modern end-to-end testing frameworks; Playwright is strongly preferred.
Experience working effectively in a complex, matrixed organization on cross-functional projects.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills, including the ability to lead technical discussions and advocate for quality initiatives.
Results-oriented mindset with a strong sense of ownership and accountability.
Mandatory skills: TypeScript, Selenium WebDriver, TestNG, Core Java, API Testing, Postman, REST APIs, UI Automation, Functional Testing, Test Planning, Cucumber (BDD), Playwright, and Test Automation Framework Development.
Ability to commute to and from the location using personal transportation to meet required working hours.
Ability to work in a shop floor environment, including extensive walking and lifting up to 40 lbs.

Nice To Haves

Experience with API testing tools such as Postman or REST Assured.
Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, or GitHub Actions.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, and execute a comprehensive automated testing strategy, converting manual testing processes into a robust, scalable framework.
Architect and support implementation of end-to-end, integration, and API tests using modern frameworks and programming languages.
Review and verify that standards are followed for test suites.
Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines to provide rapid feedback and maintain quality with every release.
Represent quality in architectural and design reviews and ensure testability is built into the development lifecycle.
Lead and contribute to discussions on technology strategy, framework selection, and testing best practices.
Work with developers, project managers, and DevOps to identify, triage, and resolve bugs.
Define and report on key quality metrics.
