About The Position

York International Corporation seeks a Sr. Quality Engineer at its facility located at 100 CV Avenue, Waynesboro, PA 17268. This role involves analyzing company processes, developing enhancement strategies, and investigating shortfalls and issues. The engineer will establish performance standards, collaborate with stakeholders to improve productivity and satisfaction, and communicate ideas to management. A key aspect is staying updated on process optimization developments and implementing methods to inspect, test, and evaluate products and production equipment to ensure adherence to quality standards. The position requires preparing reports, working to deadlines, tracking products through the manufacturing process, and developing KPIs to drive improvement. Responsibilities include root cause and corrective action (RCCA) for customer concerns, performing detailed inspections of final products to meet industry, company, and regulatory standards (including ASME and National Board Registry), and maintaining familiarity with quality standards and regulations. The role involves conveying information through reports, meetings, and status updates, performing accurate quality control, and utilizing analytical and problem-solving skills to review systems and propose solutions. Support for improvement activities arising from the rewards program is also expected. Domestic travel is required up to 25% to other JCI facilities and vendors. This position supervises 4 Quality Inspectors.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Industrial Engineering, Product Engineering, or a related field, plus three (3) years of experience as a Lean Manufacturing Engineer, Quality Engineer, or related occupation in the Operations/Manufacturing/Engineering industry.
  • Employment experience with Six Sigma black belt training
  • Employment experience with Lean training
  • Employment experience with FMEA knowledge
  • Employment experience with PAPSO (PPAP)
  • Employment experience with 8D analysis
  • Employment experience with B31.5 knowledge
  • Alternatively, a Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Industrial Engineering, Product Engineering, or a related field, plus one (1) year of experience as a Lean Manufacturing Engineer, Quality Engineer, or related occupation in the Operations/Manufacturing/Engineering industry.

Responsibilities

  • Perform detailed and recorded inspections of final products, so the products are up to industry and company standards and satisfy all regulatory requirements
  • Maintain all regulatory requirements, including but not limited to, ASME standards, National Board Registry
  • Maintain familiarity with quality standards and processes to follow federal, state, and local regulations
  • Convey information in reports, meetings, and status reports
  • Perform accurate quality control of the product
  • Ensure analysis, critical-thinking, and problem-solving skills to review systems, find flaws, and pose solutions to those flaws
  • Support for improvement activities arising from the rewards program
