About The Position

Leidos is seeking a talented Senior Quality Engineer to join a diverse team to create unique solutions for complex problems. The Senior Quality Engineer will support mechanical and electrical manufacturing and assembly integration and testing for aerospace and defense manufacturing. This role involves program quality planning, analyzing program QA requirements, developing inspection/test procedures and process plans, finalizing source inspection checklists, coordinating review of nonconformance documentation, and supporting root cause/corrective action. Key duties also include reviewing AS9102 FAI documentation, working with DCMA and other government quality assurance agencies, collecting and reporting Quality Metrics, reviewing and approving new drawings, supporting project managers during design, manufacturing readiness reviews, PDR, CDR, APQP, PPAP, DFMEA, PFMEA, and conducting supplier surveillance audits.

Requirements

4 year degree with a minimum of (8-12) years of experience in an ISO9001/AS9100 system or equivalent experience in DOD, Aerospace, or Automotive manufacturing quality control
Proficient in GD&T per ASMEY14.5-2009
Experience working with non-conforming material, performing failure analysis, identifying root cause and implementing corrective action
Experience writing work instructions, procedures, and implementing QMS documentation associated with AS9100
Able to review and interpret contract quality clauses and technical data and develop and document appropriate quality verification procedures, plans, and work instructions, including AS9102 First Article Inspection documentation
Experience using Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, & Outlook)
Able to lift up to 25 lbs
Demonstrated experience effectively communicating within a team environment
Capable of performing in a collaborative engineering environment working closely with multi-disciplinary teams
Must be a resident of North Alabama or willing to relocate to the area

Experience in developing PFMEA and RCCA
