About The Position

Huron is hiring a Senior QA Test Engineer to help ensure the reliability, usability, and performance of its enterprise applications. The role works closely with Product Management, Engineering, and QA teams throughout the design, implementation, release, and maintenance of multi-user, dynamic web-based and analytics applications. The engineer owns quality across the product lifecycle and contributes to delivering high-quality products that meet client needs and organizational standards. Under general direction, the position carries out testing procedures to ensure software, hardware, applications, and services meet organizational standards and end-user requirements. The engineer analyzes and tests software and application configurations against design specifications and quality standards, participates in Agile testing practices, develops and executes test plans and suites, documents processes and outcomes, and communicates software issues to developers and technical support. The role also contributes to QA policies and standards and promotes adherence to procedures and best practices. The position requires strong hands-on expertise in JMeter performance testing, Selenium automation using Java, AWS services, SQL and database validation, troubleshooting, and Agile development. It also involves performance analysis, data pipeline testing, supporting QA/UAT/production environments, communicating release risks and quality status, and contributing to continuous improvement of QA practices and tools.

Requirements

At least 5 years of professional QA or Test Engineering experience, including manual and automation testing.
Good understanding of SQL and database validation.
Familiarity with AWS CloudWatch, EventBridge, QuickSight, Batch Jobs, Lambda, S3, Redshift, Glue, and Bedrock.
Strong hands-on experience with performance testing using JMeter, including developing, executing, analyzing, and troubleshooting tests.
Strong hands-on experience developing Selenium automation using Java.
Experience designing and maintaining reusable automation frameworks and automated regression suites.
Experience testing data lakes, data warehouses, ETL/ELT, or data pipelines.
Strong troubleshooting, debugging, analytical, and root-cause analysis skills.
Experience with functional, regression, integration, system, API, and end-to-end testing.
Experience working in Agile/Scrum software development environments.
Experience with Azure DevOps, JIRA, or similar tools.
Experience with CI/CD and DevOps practices.
Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently, take ownership of QA activities, proactively identify risks, and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.

Responsibilities

Own and execute manual and automated testing across the software development lifecycle, ensuring releases meet quality objectives and timelines.
Design, develop, execute, and analyze JMeter performance tests, including workload modeling, results analysis, and performance reporting.
Troubleshoot test and performance issues, perform root-cause analysis, and work with development teams to resolve defects.
Develop and maintain reusable Selenium automation using Java for functional and regression testing.
Review technical designs and participate in architecture discussions, advising on testability, reliability, scalability, and performance.
Estimate QA effort for user stories and defects, and develop test plans, scenarios, and cases.
Generate and maintain test data to address testing needs and data gaps.
Use SQL queries to validate databases and data integrity across application and backend systems.
Identify performance bottlenecks, capacity limitations, scalability concerns, and potential performance debt, and communicate issues to engineering teams.
Communicate release risks, quality concerns, and potential production-impacting issues to QA and project leadership.
Participate in bug scrub meetings and release-readiness discussions.
Evaluate and recommend tools, techniques, and automation approaches to improve testing efficiency and product quality.
Review QA deliverables and provide technical guidance and feedback to other QA team members.
Participate in Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, backlog refinement, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
Work with Product Management, Engineering, and QA to ensure requirements are testable and test coverage is comprehensive.
Support QA, UAT, and production environments and understand build and deployment processes.
Support test execution during releases and provide stakeholders with quality status, risk, and defect updates.
Ensure testing aligns with Huron quality standards and contributes to reliable, usable, high-performing products.
Improve QA practices, automation frameworks, performance testing capabilities, and release processes.
