About The Position

The CMG Patient Strategy aims to create a holistic, cross-functional approach to deliver a best-in-class patient experience that aligns with the portfolio, technology tools, and consumer-driven patient expectations in a rapidly evolving business landscape. As the Senior Patient Experience Business Partner (Sr. PXBP) for high-complexity Therapeutic Areas (TAs), you will serve as the primary strategic liaison within Patient Experience (PX) to shape, triage, and elevate patient-related strategies and capabilities across Genentech. In this role, you will: Serve as the primary point of contact and trusted advisor within PX for high-complexity TAs, embedding within relevant Squads to capture, clarify, and document TA-specific patient experience needs across the product lifecycle. Translate complex TA business strategies and market dynamics into actionable experience requirements, Strategy Briefs, and long-term PX roadmaps. Partner closely with Access Business Partners to integrate patient access and support barriers into the Integrated Access Plan (IAP), relevant integrated patient plan, lifecycle planning, and overarching squad strategies. Lead PX activities for complex new product launches and line extensions, ensuring programs scale seamlessly to support future patient needs for pipeline assets. Influence and align senior leaders across CMG and Roche/GNE by effectively communicating the strategic value and ROI of PX initiatives to secure resource commitment. Collaborate with Experience Design, DDA, and RDT to advocate for the patient journey and drive scalable, enterprise-wide PX solutions. Provide informal mentorship and guidance to team members, establishing best practices and fostering team cohesion across the PXBP organization.

Requirements

  • Hold a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline with 15+ years of professional industry experience in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or related sector.
  • Demonstrated deep understanding and knowledge in at least one Therapeutic Area and the ecosystem of entities impacting the patient access journey.
  • Possess a proven track record of interfacing with, presenting to, and earning buy-in from senior leadership to drive strategic alignment across matrixed organizations.
  • Demonstrate strong leadership presence, storytelling, and communication skills, with an ability to lead without authority and influence decision-making.
  • Show advanced capabilities in strategic planning, making tough trade-off decisions, and leveraging data and technology to improve patient outcomes.

Nice To Haves

  • Advanced degree (Master's, MBA, or PharmD) in a healthcare, scientific, or business discipline.
  • Direct experience in Patient Experience, Patient Access, or Commercial Strategy supporting high-complexity or specialty TAs (e.g., Oncology, Rare Disease, Neurology).
  • Demonstrated success in coaching, mentoring, or guiding cross-functional peers within an agile or squad operating model.
