About The Position

As a Sr. Project Manager in Controls & Electrical Engineering, you will lead project delivery across Atlas OT’s portfolio of offerings. You will own project execution strategy, resource planning, financial performance, client satisfaction, and continuous improvement for the Projects organization. This is a hands-on leadership role combining strategic oversight with operational accountability for multi-discipline teams including subcontractors and vendors (controls, electrical, instrumentation, panel fabrication, commissioning, and field services). Director of Projects will be instrumental in direct project management, sales support and initiatives, and partner satisfaction.

Requirements

  • Deep knowledge of PLCs, SCADA, DCS, HMI development, control logic, alarming, and trending.
  • Familiarity with major platforms (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Schneider, ABB, Emerson) and CodeSys.
  • Experience with electrical and instrumentation design, control panel fabrication standards (UL508A/698A), and FAT/SAT processes.
  • Strong estimating, commercial negotiation, and P&L management experience.
  • Proficiency with MS Office, estimating software, and project management tools.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to present technical solutions to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational discipline, attention to detail, and ability to lead cross-functional teams.
  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Controls) or equivalent technical degree.
  • 10+ years in industrial automation, controls, or EPC project delivery with progressive leadership responsibility.
  • Proven track record in oil & gas, energy, manufacturing, water/wastewater, or heavy industrial sectors.
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
  • Ability to pass background check and drug screening.
  • Willingness to complete customer-mandated safety training, work in plant environments and varying weather.

  • Advanced degree preferred.
  • PMP, PE, or relevant project management/certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Define and execute project delivery strategy, standards, and KPIs for repeatable, scalable project execution.
  • Partner with Business Development and Sales leadership to align backlog, capacity, and generate new opportunities.
  • Own P&L for assigned projects: scope, estimating, margin protection, change management, and closeout.
  • Ensure projects meet schedule, budget, quality, and safety targets.
  • Drive continuous improvement in estimating accuracy, schedule predictability, and margin recovery.
  • Manage utilization targets across project managers, engineers, and field staff.
  • Support and drive pursuit strategy for strategic accounts and capital projects.
  • Collaborate on proposals, technical solutions, and client presentations to convert opportunities into projects.
  • Act as senior technical and commercial point of contact for key clients.
  • Translate complex OT/controls solutions into client-facing proposals and commercial terms.
  • Oversee technical quality: review P&IDs, PFDs, control narratives, PLC/HMI architecture, and FAT/SAT plans.
  • Support hiring, mentorship, and develop project managers, engineers, and technical leads.
  • Manage external partners, panel shops, and subcontractors to ensure compliance with Atlas OT standards.
  • Enforce safety, security, and compliance requirements on projects and client sites.
  • Ensure customer-mandated safety training and background/drug screening requirements are met.
  • Develop, manage and enforce best practices, industry standards, and Atlas OT Quality Management System.
