About The Position

We are looking for a hands-on Senior Project Manager to drive exciting and innovative microgrid projects in various locations across the West. You will report to the Senior Director, Project Management, and work on a hybrid basis out of either our Santa Monica or Oakland, CA offices. Key responsibilities will include: Serve as the project manager for individual microgrid construction projects for our customers from contract signature through commissioning. Ensure our internal company functions (i.e., Business Development, Engineering, Service) are aligned throughout the project execution process. Prepare project schedules, operating rhythms, and sequence of operations to ensure all stakeholders (customers, contractors, material/ equipment vendors, and local regulatory agencies) are informed and engaged. Evaluate and manage 3rd party agreements and relationships with Contractors/EPCs and other material and service providers. Manage bid solicitation, bid review, selection, contractor negotiations, and establish and maintain project budgets. Track project costs and schedules to ensure the project is delivered on time and on target. Proactively identify and resolve conflicts and develop and implement viable solutions. Inform the development of our Project Management function to keep pace with our company’s rapid growth.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in construction management, general contracting, logistics, engineering, energy industry, or military experience
  • An understanding of building code and regulations
  • Excellent communication skills and customer service skills
  • Critical thinking and creative problem-solving skills
  • Proactive and mission-driven behavior
  • Able to work autonomously and be comfortable representing Scale in customer-facing situations
  • Highly organized and self-motivated, with determination to work through challenges
  • Team player who supports the growth of others with experience managing direct reports
  • Competency in Procore, MS Project (or similar scheduling software), G-suite/MS Office

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred
