About The Position

This position is for a Planning Analyst/Scheduler responsible for the implementation of standard processes and tools and program planning and control practices. The role involves working within a team environment with program management, technical staff, and other supporting personnel. The ideal candidate will possess strong teamwork skills, exhibit strong leadership potential, and have comprehensive verbal and written communication/presentation skills. This role is specifically open to Veterans, Transitioning Military, National Guard and Reserve Members, Military Spouses, Wounded Warriors, and their Caregivers.

Requirements

  • Expert knowledge of Microsoft Project is a must.
  • Typically requires BA.
  • 8-10 years of IT, Business Analyst, and/or Systems Operational support.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure major Projects and Programs Integrated Master Schedules (IMS) and plans are horizontally and vertically integrated across functional groups.
  • Utilize Gantt, milestone charts, and other project management techniques to gauge progress and identify schedule variances to facilitate focus and intervention on critical areas.
  • Engage with the Program Team to perform thorough project analysis showing knowledge and understanding of the program and the principles of project management and suggests/creates/implements work around to enhance schedule performance.
  • Perform risk analyses and identify and resolve critical path and network logic conflicts.
  • Understand numerous facets of scheduling and contribute to the development of new scheduling concepts, techniques, and standards.
  • Support new recommendations on schedule methodologies and proposal strategies and develop IMS.
  • Frequent use of industry scheduling best practices.
  • Manages the day-to-day activities on complex Technical or non-Technical project(s).
  • Manages the administrative/operational leadership of a project within the program guidelines set by the Program Manager and customer.
  • Monitors project(s) to ensure work scope, schedule, and budget are well defined and maintained.
  • Provides the coordination between resource managers/supervisors and ensures all necessary reviews and approvals are received.
  • May conduct performance/project analyses to benefit future/other projects/missions/programs.
  • Performs complex tasks and has some latitude for determining appropriate processes to follow.
  • Leads and directs the work of other employees and has full authority for personnel decisions.
  • Supervision may be provided through a team of subordinate supervisors and/or managers.
  • Administers departmental policies and procedures, evaluates results and performance, and assists with the development of new or modified budgets, strategic plans, or policies.
