About The Position

In this role, you will impact / be responsible for creating the scope of work for a given project, engineering, project validation and justification, budgeting, financial analysis, and construction project management from creation to completion and implementation. The Facilities Project Manager will deliver successful, high quality project outcomes safely, on time, within budget and in accordance with the agreed upon scope of work.

Requirements

4-6 years of direct professional project management, construction management, and/or facilities capital project management experience.
2-4 years direct experience in Facilities Management operations and/or maintenance.
Fluency in reading and evaluating construction plans (e.g. architectural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, structural, etc.) and specifications.
Understanding of, and familiarity with, all applicable building codes.
Ability to effectively plan, coordinate, and provide leadership in the execution of a number of complex, fast-paced and concurrent construction projects.
Knowledge of design-build project delivery methodology.
Ability to obtain or maintain a Security Clearance

Nice To Haves

Bachelor’s degree, preferably in construction management.
Ability to work with in-house trades team for pre, during, and post construction process
Relevant professional certification(s) (e.g. Certified Facility Manager, Project Management Professional, Certified Maintenance & Reliability Professional, etc.) desired
Effective verbal and written communication skills; ability to communicate and collaborate with all levels of the organization.
Planning and organization skills to manage multiple project priorities and vendor partners at any given time.
Analytical and decision-making skills which integrate technical and business factors.
Ability to travel (approximately 10%) to Honeywell aerospace facilities throughout the U.S. and Mexico as, if and when necessary

Responsibilities

Evaluate, develop and lead projects from the technical, operational and business perspectives.
Manage the entire project execution process throughout the project lifecycle; serve as the key point of contact throughout the design, permitting, build-out and close-out processes.
Collaborate with a diverse team including engineers, peers, Safety, Health and Environment (SHE) staff, Facilities management, supervision, technicians and administration, construction/engineering contractors and others to determine work scope, secure materials, and schedule trades to complete tasks.
Create and manage facilities capital project budgets in relation to fiscal year capital expense budgets and long range plans.
Perform financial analysis including value engineering, project cost analysis and contract negotiations.
Manage commitments.
Anticipate changing resource requirements and results; initiate appropriate responses (e.g. change orders) to optimize overall project results.
Ensure that all projects adhere to all Honeywell Aerospace Finance requirements.
Develop and maintain contracts and manage relationships with key vendor partners (e.g. general contractors, architects, engineering firms, etc.).
Create contractor and vendor Request for Proposal documents (scope narratives, schedules, etc.), attend job walks and selection/award review meetings.
Establish and/or review contract documents and manage procurement, pre-bid conferences, and evaluations.
Assist in negotiating with contractors regarding changes to design, construction work scope, and schedules.
Evaluate contractor submittals to ensure that proposed equipment, materials and methods meet quality and performance thresholds, and are compatible with CAES building equipment, systems, and finishes.
Prepare CapEx documents for internal approval.
Independently and proactively determine general approach and specific solutions to technical problems.
Coordinate activities with other CAES staff, departments, government and public agencies as necessary to avoid, or otherwise minimize, interruptions to the business.
Monitor and/or resolve claims, suggest ways to mitigate impacts, and develop workarounds.
Interface with local municipalities with respect to zoning and permitting requirements.
Manage the efforts of outside vendor partners, tradespeople, and contractors, including daily supervision of on-site construction, assuring consistent work quality, compliance with CAES protocols and contract conditions, and adherence to approved schedules and methods.
Work extended hours beyond a traditional work schedule to include, but not limited to, evenings, weekends, extended shifts, and/or extra shifts, sometimes with little or no notice.
Execute other work as assigned by the Manager, Facilities.
Ability to support and provide “customer service mentality” for multiple internal stakeholders effectively.
Ability to assess the operational effectiveness of vendor partners.
