About The Position

The Sr. Project Leader-Engineering Systems owns assigned process improvement and systems enablement initiatives within Power Systems Engineering. This role defines the target state and governs execution with global and regional stakeholders to ensure consistent adoption across regions and measurable improvements in pace, quality, and end-to-end execution. The Sr. Project Leader drives alignment and harmonization through process transformation and software enablement, providing the governance cadence, change leadership, communications, and training needed to implement and sustain standardized ways of working.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in technical discipline
  • Minimum of (5) years project leadership experience in relevant fields including successful implementation of process improvements and software enhancements across Engineering Systems
  • Demonstrated ability to manage a multi-project portfolio, including prioritization, integrated plans/schedules, and active management of risks, issues, assumptions, and dependencies (RAID) across initiatives.
  • Experience facilitating process improvement events, cross-functional workshops, and/or value stream mapping, including leading discovery in ambiguous environments to define current-state and drive future-state process improvements.
  • Practical working knowledge of change management tools and Engineering Systems applications (e.g., Smartsheet, PLM/PDM, PIM, CPQ), including basic understanding of integrations and data governance.
  • Practical working knowledge of Engineering Systems enabling technologies and continuous improvement methods

Responsibilities

  • Establish, apply, and continuously improve a framework for cross-regional execution of Engineering Systems projects and key strategic initiatives across Global Power Systems.
  • Lead delivery of process and application changes by driving global alignment and harmonization of processes, data standards, and system workflows – enabling products designed and built in any region.

  • Partner with global cross-functional teams to identify unique business/regional needs while balancing the overall purpose and business requirements of the project.
  • Manage multi-project portfolio priorities to align resources, timelines, and outcomes with strategic Engineering Systems objectives.
  • Manage portfolio-level planning and controls across initiatives, including prioritization, and active governance of risks, issues, assumptions, dependencies, and interlocks; drive corrective action and support executive trade-off decisions as needed.
  • Establish and chair global governance for assigned initiatives (cadence, decision forums, decision logs, and escalation paths) and provide executive-ready reporting that enables timely prioritization, investment, and scope decisions.
  • Lead discovery in ambiguous environments (unknown stakeholders, unclear current state, limited documentation) to quickly establish current-state understanding and drive teams to a defined future-state through practical implementation plans, change management, and sustained adoption.
  • Facilitate process improvement events, workshops, and value stream mapping to define actionable deliverables and drive measurable, sustained process improvements.
  • Act as the change management lead on major Engineering Systems projects as assigned, utilizing the ADKAR change management model to support and motivate individuals and teams to adopt standardized ways of working and globally aligned software.
  • Own the Engineering Systems change enablement toolkit (communications, training assets, and playbooks), setting expectations for quality and consistency and verifying adoption through defined readiness and sustainment measures.
  • Continuously research, evaluate, and apply Engineering Systems best practices and enabling technologies suitable for the work environment and culture.
  • Maintain and improve a culture of innovative and streamlined global systems, processes, and standards to further expedite new product development and strengthen cross-regional execution.
  • Work with global teams to incorporate the “voice of the customer”, creating an efficient process for expediting quality product to the market.
  • Partner with Global Engineering Team Leads to ensure new processes and applications are implemented and utilized as intended, enabling effective adoption, sustained compliance to standards, and overall project success.
  • Foster innovation and assist in the development of the Global Engineering Systems roadmap to standardize processes, data, and enabling technologies that support the company’s long-range business plans.
  • Utilize offshore and outsourcing resources for greater efficiency and economy.
  • Establish and govern the global self-service knowledge model for Engineering Systems (job aids, user guides, and release guidance), ensuring content accuracy, regional applicability, and sustained use.
