About The Position

As the Solar + BESS Services Engineering Manager, you will have the opportunity to lead a multi-discipline team of engineers and technicians to produce deliverables on diverse and challenging Solar + BESS projects. You will manage project execution of engineering design, material, equipment, and construction specification development for various Solar + BESS projects, including engineering, construction support, and Engineer Procure & Construct (EPC) projects. You will also manage budgeting, scheduling, and correspondence with Clients and project management in support of a project, and support business development, client interactions, project execution, and proposals.

Requirements

Requires a bachelor's degree in engineering from either a recognized accredited program in their home country or the country in which the professional is practicing.
Minimum of 8 years related work experience.
All applicants must be able to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements (if selected) which may include any/all of the following: criminal/civil background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle records search, in compliance with any applicable laws and regulations.

Nice To Haves

P.E. License highly preferred
Working knowledge of testing and commissioning plans and procedures
5+ years of experience in design of solar PV and/or BESS facilities with strong understanding of layout optimization and technical knowledge of major equipment associated with solar PV and BESS facilities
Good communication skills and interest in engaging with Clients to grow relationships
Knowledge of project development/siting/studies/permitting, feasibility studies, conceptual design, Front End Engineering Design (FEED), energy production estimates.
Intermediate knowledge of Power Purchase Agreement content and the impacts on project siting, permitting, design, schedule, cost, commissioning, and O&M
Advanced knowledge of engineering design principles and applicable design guides and standards
Intermediate knowledge of civil/structural and electrical/controls
Advanced ability to interpret engineering deliverable content as assigned
Working knowledge of procurement, construction and contract administration
Working knowledge of the proposal process

Responsibilities

Lead a multi-discipline team of engineers and technicians to produce deliverables on diverse and challenging Solar + BESS projects.
Manage project execution of engineering design, material, equipment, and construction specification development for various Solar + BESS projects.
Manage budgeting, scheduling, and correspondence with Clients and project management in support of a project.
Support business development, client interactions, project execution and proposals.
Prepare complex engineering deliverables for multiple or mega projects.
Conduct research to develop equipment and material recommendations.
Manage data and perform complex engineering calculations.
Develop and manage project budgets, schedules, and quality requirements across multiple disciplines.
Lead larger production teams, coordinate multiple discipline activities, and serve as the responsible charge for a project.
Identify key client interests and drivers for moderately complex projects.
Communicate client concerns to project team members and develop solutions.
Provide support for business development or pursuit activities.
Manage project changes directly with the client under Project Manager supervision.
Lead large multi-discipline teams to meet project deliverables.
Provide technical leadership for complex Solar + BESS projects.
Drive solutions to achieve project goals.
Reviews lower-level engineering work or assignments.
Responsible for cost to budget performance of engineering design services.
