About The Position

ReNuke Services is seeking a Sr. Project Controls Governance Specialist for our client's site in Charlotte, NC. The Governance Specialist – Project Controls provides hands-on support for project governance processes, procedures, systems, and documentation. This role helps maintain practical tools, resources, and standards that enable consistent execution across strategic programs, projects, and annually funded workstreams (AFWS). This position focuses on developing, updating, and maintaining governance job aids, process documentation, procedures, SharePoint content, templates, and project controls reference materials in alignment with organizational policies and PMCoE guidelines. The Governance Specialist works closely with project controls, program teams, and functional partners to document processes, support adoption of governance tools, maintain current guidance materials, and assist with day-to-day governance execution.

Requirements

  • Governance & Project Controls: Working knowledge of scheduling, cost controls, risk management, and governance documentation
  • Documentation & Process Support: Ability to develop, update, organize, and maintain job aids, procedures, templates, and reference materials
  • SharePoint & Content Management: Experience maintaining SharePoint sites, document libraries, governance resources, and version-controlled project controls materials
  • Analytical Thinking: Strong attention to detail, problem-solving, and ability to identify gaps or inconsistencies in process materials
  • Communication: Clear, concise written and verbal communication with the ability to translate process requirements into practical guidance
  • Collaboration: Ability to work across matrixed teams, gather input, and coordinate updates without direct authority
  • Bachelor's degree (or equivalent experience)
  • 5+ years of experience in project governance, project controls, or program support (or 9+ years without degree)
  • Strong working knowledge of governance processes, project controls documentation, process/procedure maintenance, and program support functions
  • Experience creating or maintaining job aids, procedures, templates, SharePoint content, or process documentation

Nice To Haves

  • Industry Experience: Utility and/or large-scale construction program experience preferred
  • Master's degree (Business Administration or Project Management)
  • PMP or PgMP certification

Responsibilities

  • Create, update, and maintain governance job aids, process maps, procedures, templates, and reference materials
  • Maintain governance SharePoint sites, libraries, document repositories, and project controls content to ensure information is accurate, current, and easy to access
  • Review existing guidance materials for gaps, inconsistencies, or outdated information and coordinate updates with process owners and subject matter experts
  • Support updates to governance processes, workflows, and procedures based on business needs, lessons learned, and stakeholder feedback
  • Assist with documenting current-state and future-state processes, including step-by-step instructions, decision points, roles, and handoffs
  • Identify opportunities to improve usability, clarity, and consistency of governance materials, tools, and reporting support documents
  • Support preparation, maintenance, and quality review of project controls documents, governance trackers, meeting materials, and reporting inputs
  • Assist with governance meetings by preparing agendas, maintaining action item logs, capturing updates, and organizing supporting documentation
  • Compile and format weekly, monthly, and leadership-level reporting materials using established templates and data sources
  • Help communicate process updates, document revisions, and governance resource changes to project controls and program stakeholders
  • Provide hands-on support for program planning documentation, including scope, schedule, cost controls, procurement, risk, and governance-related inputs
  • Maintain governance elements within Program Management Plans and related project controls documents to ensure updates are incorporated and versioned appropriately
  • Coordinate with project controls, governance, and functional teams to gather updates, validate content, and maintain consistent documentation
  • Support resolution of process, documentation, and compliance questions by researching guidance and connecting with appropriate subject matter experts
  • Apply project governance and project controls principles in day-to-day documentation, reporting, SharePoint maintenance, and process support activities
