About The Position

AECOM is seeking a creative, highly talented Senior Project Architect to lead transformative architecture projects and build client partnerships that shape communities. This position is to be based in Columbus, OH. We’re looking for a leader in design & technical excellence, driven by a passion for delivering quality work, mentoring staff, and leading multi-disciplinary teams. As a Senior Project Architect with recognized technical expertise and experience in demanding, design driven projects, you will lead interdisciplinary teams. Leveraging your industry experience and technical acumen, you will drive a wide range of project types and sizes through all phases of design, documentation, and construction. The Ohio Buildings + Places Team, anchored by large studios in Columbus and Cleveland, is one of the most established and highest-performing B+P practices in AECOM’s West Region. Our Ohio-led client base is global and includes Public Non-Federal, Cultural + Civic, Higher Education, Science & Technology, and Transit, plus a full suite of Federal clients. We operate as a fully integrated, multidisciplinary studio, offering clients Architecture & Interiors, Building Systems & Structural Engineering, Urbanism, Planning & Landscape Architecture, Workplace Strategy & Advisory, and Digital Delivery & Technology Solution. Requirements

Bachelor of Architecture plus 8 years of experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
Licensed as a registered architect
U.S. citizenship is required

Nice To Haves

Experience in a wide variety of production and visualization software including but not limited to: AutoCAD, Revit, Adobe Creative Suite, Photoshop and PowerPoint
Working knowledge of building codes, standards, building construction, and building structures
Certification as a LEED Accredited Professional by the USGBC
Ability to thrive in a collaborative, open office work environment
Diverse knowledge of architecture principles and practices
Must be detail oriented, thorough, well-organized and effectively manage time
Team player with excellent listening skills and diplomacy; willingness to work with multiple different colleagues on a variety of initiatives
Outstanding oral communication and presentation skills
Strong organizational skills – ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously

Responsibilities

In partnership with the Project Director and/or Project Manager, lead a team, or multiple teams, in the design and technical documentation and delivery of a wide range of projects
Support the pursuit of exciting new projects
Prepare design and contract drawings using advanced design software tools
Develop solutions to a wide range of difficult technical problems
Oversee the work of more junior designers and architects
Manage client, team, and project coordination, including full documentation coordination with structural, MEP, lighting, AV, landscape, and civil consultants
Support communication between project team, clients, vendors, contractors, consultants, and building and permitting officials
Provide quality control reviews of projects in the studio
