About The Position

Lawrence Group is seeking Project Architects to assist with our growing Higher Education project needs in our St. Louis office. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in architectural design, project management, and a proven track record of delivering successful projects in the student housing and higher education markets. They will play a key role in working on the project team and ensuring the successful execution of projects from concept through completion. Requires high level of understanding of technical aspects of the project as well as accessibility requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in architecture from an accredited institution.
  • Licensed Architect with 10-15 years of experience in design and architecture preferred.
  • Proven track record of successfully delivering complex projects from concept to completion.
  • Proficiency in Revit, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite, and other relevant design software.
  • Strong design sensibility and a portfolio showcasing innovative and creative student housing and higher education projects.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with clients, consultants, and project teams.
  • Proven leadership abilities, with experience leading project teams and managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Knowledge of building codes, regulations, and standards related to higher education design, as well as sustainable design principles and practices.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to think critically and analytically.

  • LEED accreditation and/or other relevant certifications are a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the design and development of student housing and higher education projects from concept through construction administration, ensuring adherence to project timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
  • Collaborate with clients to understand their goals and requirements, and translate them into innovative design solutions that exceed expectations.
  • Collaborate with project teams, including architects, designers, engineers, and consultants, to ensure effective communication, coordination, and collaboration throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Conduct site visits, assessments, and analysis to inform design decisions and ensure compliance with building codes, regulations, and industry & campus standards.
  • Prepare and present design concepts, drawings, renderings, and presentations to clients, stakeholders, and project teams.
  • Lead the preparation of construction documents, specifications, and bid packages, and coordinate with contractors and vendors during the construction and design phase.
  • Monitor project progress, budgets, and schedules, and proactively identify and address any issues or risks that may impact project outcomes.
  • Foster a creative and collaborative work environment, mentor junior staff, and contribute to the continuous improvement of architectural processes and practices.
  • Stay current with industry trends, technologies, and best practices related to higher education design, sustainability, and building performance.
