About The Position

The Sr Project Accountant delivers comprehensive financial oversight for projects by ensuring accurate accounting, timely reporting, and adherence to organizational standards. The role supports project success by analyzing moderately complex financial data, identifying risks based on precedent, and recommending solutions to maintain budgetary alignment. It prepares clear, actionable financial reports and analytics to support decision-making, drives continuous improvement in project accounting processes and controls, and collaborates across teams to influence leading practices and guide peers and less experienced team members.

Requirements

4–6 years of experience in project accounting, financial management, or a related field preferred.
Successful completion of a background check is required.

Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business administration, a related field, or equivalent experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Manage moderately complex, large-scope project accounting activities, including budget tracking, cost analysis, and revenue recognition, to ensure financial accuracy.
Review project budgets, costs, reports, and forecasts using independent judgment and comprehensive project accounting experience.
Analyze project financial performance, identify variances, and recommend corrective actions to maintain project profitability.
Collaborate with project teams to resolve moderately complex or varied accounting issues and support project delivery.
Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards and internal policies in project financial activities.
Support less experienced team members in resolving moderately complex project accounting issues and provide technical expertise on project accounting guidelines and processes.
Implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy in project accounting operations.
