About The Position

This is a Full-Time position for a Sr. Professional Staff Nurse in the Operating Room at UPMC Passavant – McCandless. The role involves delivering expert, compassionate surgical care, leading and mentoring staff, collaborating across teams, applying evidence-based practices, performing scrub duties, and participating in quality initiatives. The schedule is Monday-Friday with daylight/evening shifts, including occasional on-call nights, weekends, and holidays. Shift lengths vary.

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years' experience
• Registered Nurse (RN)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
• Act 33 with renewal
• Act 34 with renewal
• Act 73 FBI Clearance with renewal
• Strong clinical skills and critical thinking
• Commitment to patient-centered care
• Leadership in practice, education, or innovation
• Ability to work collaboratively and adapt to change

Nice To Haves

• BSN preferred
• Annual completion of 2 professional contributions selected from department, hospital or system goals, and approved by Unit Director OR certification and 1 professional contribution selected from department, hospital or system goals, and approved by Unit Director as set forth through UPMC's My Nursing Career Ladder.
• Certification not required if master's in nursing or DNP is held.
• If a BSN is held, a master's degree in a related field may be substituted in lieu of Certification.
