About The Position

Join our dynamic care delivery team as a Staff Nurse in the Operating Room! In this role, you’ll set the standards for high-quality care, taking on responsibility, authority, and accountability for nursing care. You’ll manage and provide patient care for a group of patients and their families, using your independent judgment, communication, and collaboration skills. As a Staff Nurse in the OR, you’ll start your journey in leadership, partnership, and supervision, building strong relationships with physicians, healthcare providers, patients, and their families to achieve the best patient outcomes. You’ll also demonstrate your commitment to the community and the nursing profession. This full-time role will work Monday through Friday, daylight shifts, and requires rotating call, evenings, weekends and holidays. Requirements

0-2 years experience.
Completion of UPMC student nurse internship or student clinical transitions course at UPMC preferred.
BSN preferred.
Registered Nurse (RN) OR Temporary Practice Permit (TPP)
Must complete licensure examination within SIX MONTHS of hire or within one year of graduation, whichever comes first.
NIH Certification will be required within 6 months of hire for applicable units.
Basic Cardiac Dsyrthymia course (Required within six months of hire)
Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire.
Act 31 Child Abuse Reporting with renewal
Act 33 with renewal
Act 34 with renewal
Act 73 FBI Clearance with renewal
Current licensure either in the state where the facility is located or, if the facility is in a state covered by the multistate Nursing Licensure Compact (NLC) agreement, a multistate license issued by a participating NLC state. Hires and current employees working on an out-of-state NLC license who later change their residency to the state where the facility is also located will have 60 days upon changing their residency to apply for licensure within that state.
