About The Position

The Sr. Supervisor – Production provides leadership and direction to an assigned team, and is the manager point of contact for the assigned area. This role focuses on strategic continuous improvement and area processes to deliver line stability and drive employee engagement improvements. The Sr. Supervisor – Production provides leadership to the team to ensure that all Safety, Quality, Cost, and Customer Delivery goals are achieved.

Requirements

5+ years’ supervisor experience in a bakery/food manufacturing environment
HACCP and first aid certifications required
High school or equivalent
Strong leadership and employee management skills
Ability to communicate clearly and persuasively with individuals and in a group setting
Excellent interpersonal skills to work effectively within a diverse team environment
Strong problem-solving skills including the ability to proactively exercise judgment and use analytical skills to generate productive outcomes
Proven organizational, planning and priority-setting skills
Be action oriented and provide leadership to employees
Need to demonstrate self-confidence and self-preservation
Self-driven and ability to motivate others
Ability to work in a logical, systematic manner and have common sense
Proficiency in English both in written and oral communication
Advanced Computer knowledge
Good knowledge of advanced mathematical skills

Requires both technical knowledge and administrative and daily interaction with Supervisors, Leads and Production Employees

Responsibilities

Plan, establish, direct, and supervise the activities of the team members by communicating job expectations, and appraising job results; coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; initiating, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, and procedures.
Enforce and maintain compliance with food safety, employee safety and sanitation policies and programs.
Maintain workflow by monitoring steps of the process; set processing variables; observe control points; monitor personnel and resources; initiate and foster a spirit of cooperation within and between departments.
Provide manufacturing information by compiling, initiating, sorting, and analyzing production performance records and data; answer questions and respond to requests.
Analyze operations data to identify opportunities and drive action to improve and resolve them.
Request and ensure timely follow-up on equipment repairs & service by entering EAM requests.
Recommend and implement measures to motivate employees and to improve production methods, equipment performance, product quality and efficiency.
Recommend and execute personnel actions, including hiring, employee evaluations, terminations and promotions.
Utilizing continuous improvement mindset, assist in identifying opportunities to improve processes.
Develop, recommend and implement measures to improve safety, working conditions, productions methods, efficiency, cost reduction, asset utilization, equipment performance, and quality of product.
Assist R&D with product testing and samples.
Follow-up with HR & the Payroll Administrator upon receipt of any new employee information (i.e. address change, doctor’s note, status change, resignation letter, etc.).
Inform Payroll Administrator when premium pay is applicable for employees covering in other positions.
Responsible for output of production including yields, labor and material costs.
Responsible for product quality and training of employees on quality standards and procedures.
Learn, teach, exhibit and enforce behaviors consistent with Furlani’s Code of Conduct.
Ensure adherence to Standard Operating Procedures and Process Controls.
Maintain fair and consistent application of all company policies and procedures.
Ensure that all are complying with Occupational Health and Safety regulations and be proactive in the prevention and elimination of workplace accidents. This includes proper accident/incident reports, identifying the root cause and developing corrective actions.
Ensure compliance with SQF (Safe Quality Food) standards.
Maintain the highest standards for quality, customer service and recognizing that Food Safety is of the greatest priority, including GMP’s (Good Manufacturing Practices).
Plan and prioritize daily job assignments, through the company ERP system QAD.
Ensure open and effective communication.
Communicate (lead by example) mission, vision and values.
