About The Position

PPG's Aerospace Business is looking for a Senior Production Supervisor to join our team in Grand Prairie! As a Production Supervisor, you will coordinate the production processes and lead any troubleshooting, scheduling, and supply chain activities across cell areas. You will be an integral part of the operation and have extensive interaction with production staff and key leadership members of the plant. This position is day shift located onsite at our Grand Prairie, TX. facility.

Requirements

  • Only U.S. Citizens, Green Card holders, and political asylees or refugees are eligible to apply.
  • Candidates must have or be eligible to obtain secret clearance.
  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • 5+ years of manufacturing supervision experience required
  • Knowledge of MRP (Material Requirements Planning) systems.
  • Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement experience.
  • Understanding of airworthiness requirements and military aerospace standards.
  • Experience monitoring, tracking, and continually improving the total cost equation.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • experience in the aerospace or defense industry preferred.
  • Knowledge of aerospace quality systems (AS9100), military specifications, airworthiness requirements, military aerospace requirements, fighter aircraft components, aerospace transparencies and advanced coating systems a bonus.

Responsibilities

  • Achieve all production objectives through accurate planning to meet production schedules and deliver high-quality products that meet specifications and PPG's standards.
  • Supervise the shift production teams.
  • Ensure that each team member adheres to all company policies and procedures regarding safety, health, and the environment and that vital training programs are in place to ensure that all applicable standards are met.
  • Encourage continuous improvement of individual and team performance, as well as align with all EEO policies and procedures.
  • Review work instructions to ensure shop floor operators have accurate and complete instructions and, if necessary, recommendation changes.
  • Identify and address problems related to production process/flow and provide production reports to assist process improvement.
  • Coordinate work schedules, staffing requirements, and production sequences to improve efficiency.
  • Help set daily/weekly goals with the scheduling team and communicate any/all blockers.
  • Coordinate and communicate requirements with Procurement to ensure that materials are purchased or expedited in the appropriate quantities and timeframe to meet production needs.
  • Complete production plan by scheduling and assigning staffing; accomplishing work results; establishing priorities; supervising progress; revising schedules; resolving problems; reporting results of the processing flow on shift production summaries.
  • Perform root cause analysis and the implementation of corresponding corrective action plans.
  • Coordinate with engineering and other departments to minimize production interruptions.
  • Meet tight production schedules to achieve high-rate production.
