About The Position

The Sr. Production Operator uses a variety of equipment and machines to produce high-quality custom framing products while following safety rules, meeting productivity standards, and achieving attendance requirements. The role operates in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and provides guidance to Production Associates as needed. The operator manufactures frame and mat fillet orders, monitors product quality, maintains equipment, and keeps the work area safe and organized. The position involves working around moving machinery in an environment with high noise, dust, and temperatures that may be high or low because the facility is not climate-controlled.

Requirements

High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
One year of manufacturing experience.
Basic supervisory or leadership skills.
Ability to communicate effectively.
Verbal and numerical intelligence, including the ability to read a tape measure and ruler accurately.
Ability to differentiate between quality cuts and defective cuts.
Ability to evaluate variations and changes in machinery settings.
Ability to work safely in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Meet the physical requirements of the role, including prolonged standing and use of foot controls; frequent walking, bending, and twisting; and lifting and carrying up to 30 pounds occasionally.

Responsibilities

Operate machines and equipment according to procedures.
Cut, fit, assemble, package, and ship frame and mat fillet orders.
Provide guidance to Production Associates as needed.
Meet or exceed productivity standards set by management and assist with production flow.
Clean equipment as required for safe and accurate operation.
Perform required maintenance and replace worn parts, such as blades and bits, when appropriate and required.
Produce orders according to quality standards and meet or exceed quality standards set by management.
Calibrate equipment as appropriate to produce high-quality materials.
Alert management to machine or quality issues.
Inspect completed work for visible defects or quality issues.
Complete recuts or rework immediately.
Maintain a clean work area for safe and efficient operation.
Inspect equipment to ensure safe operation, follow machine-operation safety requirements, and wear appropriate safety equipment at all times.
