Sr. Production Finance Accountant
About The Position
Warner Bros. Discovery is seeking a proactive and independent Sr. Production Finance Accountant. This role involves regular interaction with freelance production accountants and HBO Corporate Finance. Key responsibilities include project set-up, overseeing operational reviews and audits for compliance with the Production Finance Production Accounting Manual, reviewing and analyzing cash flows and funding needs, and generating monthly corporate financial reporting. The position also handles banking responsibilities, reconciles production company books to HBO General Ledger, and analyzes project costs. A significant aspect of the role is supporting and improving digital accounting systems and processes, including updating the Production Finance Accounting Manual and participating in Sarbanes Oxley quarterly reviews. The New York team focuses on managing 3rd party PSA and Lic Fee shows and utilizes the Greenslate accounting system.
Requirements
- 4 years production or accounting experience required
- General understanding of managing, funding and hedging international currency
- Knowledge of various US and foreign tax incentives
- Proficient with C&C and EP accounting software and other industry standard digital systems
- Ability to adapt to a digital workspace and train accountants on digital systems and process
- Must be able to multi-task and work well under deadlines and time constraints
- Must have the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of personnel
- Must be able to organize and schedule work effectively

- Reviewing and analyzing cash flows and funding needs during the course of the show
- Generating and analyzing monthly corporate financial reporting
- Banking responsibilities
- Reconciling from the Production Company books to HBO General Ledger
- Generating and analyzing project costs to date
- Generating journal entries
- Supporting and improving related digital accounting systems/processes
- Updating the Production Finance Accounting Manual
- Sarbanes Oxley quarterly reviews
- Managing 3rd party PSA and Lic Fee shows
