About The Position

This role supports and participates in the design, test, modification, fabrication, and assembly of prototypes, maintaining detailed documentation throughout the development process. The engineer will utilize drafting tools or CAD software for design work, determine design specifications, and perform necessary adjustments and calibrations. Responsibilities include investigating and evaluating existing technology, and developing and implementing new methodologies, materials, processes, and products. The position also involves supporting product development plans (schedule, product cost, meeting design inputs), reviewing customer prints for accuracy, providing cost estimates and time standards for manufacturing operations, and conducting quality checks on documents and reports. The engineer will create manufacturing Bills of Materials, confer with other engineering personnel to ensure designs are producible, and identify/implement improvements for efficiency and cost savings. Additionally, they will evaluate engineering test results, compile and analyze operational data, implement test programs, and ensure projects are completed on time and within budget. This role requires close collaboration with other departments and serving as a key member of the plant leadership team, promoting safety, quality, and teamwork, and utilizing a hands-on approach to continuous improvement activities.
