About The Position

This role provides daily support to the Sr. Product Development Manager and team in an effort to deliver quality products on time. Requirements

  • Knowledge of the Retail/wholesale industry, specifically Jewelry process preferred.
  • Experience working with overseas suppliers from China, Vietnam, India, etc.
  • Knowledge of international tariffs and duty rates.
  • Knowledge of Costing Model (Retail vs. Wholesale, Markups, Margins, etc.).
  • University degree or equivalent.
  • Familiarity with Design Specs.
  • 5+ Years’ Experience in Product Development in Jewelry manufacturing.
  • High level proficiency with MS Excel.
  • Good verbal and written communications skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Comfortable and effective in dealing with challenging situations.
  • Must be results oriented and VERY detail conscious.
  • Very effective time management in order to prioritize multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • Flexible, adaptable, reliable and with ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Team player.

Responsibilities

  • Adhere to milestone dates for development turnover and receipt of samples.
  • Collaborate with design, merchandising, QC, and production teams to ensure adherence to schedule.
  • Maintain trackers with up-to-date information on sample status, costing, comments, and communication.
  • Review specs at turnover time to ensure designs align with price/cost models and provide suggestions to meet cost and quality targets.
  • Ensure all specs are sent to vendors adhering to schedule.
  • Manage the sampling process, tracking and expediting pass/market samples.
  • Participate in sample review meetings and resolve costing issues.
  • Review and communicate design changes and QC comments to vendors for all pass/market samples.
  • Proofread and confirm product profile sheets, packaging, and special call-out information.
  • Maintain an accurate library of pass/market samples and approval samples.
  • Negotiate costs to achieve target margin goals while maintaining design and quality integrity.
  • Update and maintain corporate systems to ensure cost integrity.
  • Partner with the QC team to ensure standards are met.
  • Provide support through reviews of design specs, document issues on trackers, and relay details to the QC team.
  • Perform quality control on pass/market samples for form, fit, and functionality.
  • Follow up on all re-sub samples within a given timeline.
