About The Position

The Sr. Product Development Engineer supports the Automated Impella Controller (AIC) Sustaining Team’s efforts to achieve operational goals, contributing directly to product performance, quality, and regulatory compliance. This role is responsible for system-level testing, verification activities, and sustaining engineering support. You will be responsible for supporting sustaining engineering activities and product improvements, performing system-level integration, verification, and characterization testing, developing and executing test plans and procedures, testing and debugging prototypes and documenting results, analyzing data for verification and issue characterization, leading root cause investigations and documenting findings, creating and maintaining engineering documentation, developing verification documentation aligned with requirements, delivering technical reports and summaries, collaborating with cross-functional teams, participating in design reviews, and coaching and mentoring junior engineers. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Systems Engineering or related field
  • Experience in system-level testing or product development
  • Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills
  • Experience with technical documentation

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in medical device or regulated industry. Class III medical device experience preferred.
  • Familiarity with verification and validation processes
  • Exposure to IEC 60601 or similar standards
  • Experience with data analysis or automation tools
