This role manages a portfolio of contracts, negotiates new and renewal contracts on behalf of the organization, and implements an enterprise-wide strategic plan for the purchase of goods and services. The position involves developing business plans and relationships with internal customers and suppliers to act in the best interest of the organization. Responsibilities include evaluating and analyzing spend categories to identify savings risks and opportunities, assisting leadership in developing strategies to mitigate risks and increase savings, researching the marketplace, conducting competitive bidding, qualifying suppliers, analyzing results, and negotiating business transactions. The role also performs financial value and/or lease versus buy analysis, negotiates contractual terms and conditions, and works with Supervision, Legal, and Risk Management to minimize risk to the University of Rochester.
