Requirements

  • Demonstrated leadership capability with mentoring Specialists and Analysts
  • Possesses a collaborative, and relentless approach to process improvement and ability to lead contract negotiations while adhering to internal policies and procedures to achieve favorable outcomes for the company
  • Proficient/Advanced level negotiation skills
  • Ability to develop and maintain creative, innovative, and strategic category/sub-category strategy for responsible areas
  • Ability to identify legal and risk issues, conduct appropriate contract review and analysis, and recommend viable alternatives and/or specifications
  • Proficient/Advanced knowledge of contract terms and conditions
  • Knowledge of information security practices
  • Cultivate strong working relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders to deliver high quality services to business partners
  • Ability to influence and steer highly ethical process with business partners and suppliers
  • Strong analytical skills, ability to understand complex legal concepts
  • Ability to build rapport with and influence Senior Management
  • Excellent organizational, verbal and written communication skills; ability to convey complex legal risks in a concise and understandable manner
  • General understanding and application of best-in-class procurement processes (category management, benchmarking, sourcing, etc.)
  • Familiarity with Data Privacy, Cybersecurity, and financial laws and regulations
  • Ability to use AI tools (e.g., Microsoft Copilot) to support daily work
  • Skills in evaluating AI outputs for accuracy, compliance, and bias
  • Experience integrating AI into workflows to improve efficiency or insights
  • Familiarity with AI assisted research, summarization, and content generation
  • Understanding of responsible AI use, including ethics and data protection
  • Bachelor’s Degree, (Juris Doctorate preferred) in related business field or equivalent work experience
  • 3-5 years background in contract negotiation
  • Experience negotiating with vendors
  • Oracle or other procurement software experience required

Responsibilities

  • Manages specific projects and initiatives aimed at improving the efficiency of services, and is accountable for managing risks and resource requirements.
  • Builds strong working relationships with business partners, professional peers, and other team members and operating level relationships with contractors, suppliers, and other external stakeholders.
  • Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience (shares knowledge/has a level of expertise).
  • Manages contracts with vendors, including negotiating terms and conditions, and documenting and agreeing on any changes or amendments.
  • Systematically and efficiently manages contract creation, execution, and analysis to maximize financial and operational performance and minimize risk.
  • Works closely with Category Management to identify and meet business needs, while identifying risks and contractually protecting GMF customers and business interests.
  • Drafts and designs processes under specific requirements within certain time-frames by defining and describing a sequence of activities to meet process objectives and produce desired outcomes.
