About The Position

The Senior Process Engineer identifies, evaluates, and implements process, technology, reliability, and continuous-improvement opportunities at the Gastonia site. The role provides daily process engineering support, leads data-driven gap closure, supports product and process scale-up, and represents Manufacturing in project definition, design, commissioning, and start-up. It collaborates with Operations, Maintenance and Reliability, HSES, Quality, R&D, Product Safety, project engineering, and technology experts to ensure safe, robust, standardized, and capable manufacturing processes. The position reports directly to the Process Improve Manager. The engineer monitors process capability, product performance, batch history, production losses, cost variances, and recurring failures; troubleshoots processes; recommends and implements procedural, equipment, control, and recipe improvements; maintains standardized manufacturing, operating, and cleaning instructions; and trains and coaches operators. The role leads continuous improvement, evaluates opportunities, uses plant and business data to prioritize work, applies effective technology and relevant practices, and supports multi-year process and technology plans. Statistical process control, designed experiments, and other analytical methods are used to improve process capability and sustain results. The position serves as the manufacturing technical representative through project definition, design, commissioning, start-up, and stabilization. It develops project scopes and gap-closure plans, integrates operability, process safety, reliability, and technology requirements, and supports technical justification and start-up for capital projects. It also liaises between Manufacturing and R&D on new products, raw materials, process changes, and technology transfer; plans and supports laboratory, pilot-plant, toll-manufacturing, and commercial-scale trials; and helps lead scale-up, product realization, and commercialization. The engineer champions process safety and supports applicable management systems and requirements, including PSM, MOC, PHA, PSSR, JSA, RCA, incident reporting, ISO 9001, RC14001, and cGMP. The role maintains process documentation and change-control requirements and may represent the site in customer, certification, and management-system audits. The job is full-time and on-site in Gastonia, North Carolina.
