About The Position

The Senior Principal Geologist will lead target generation and opportunity identification across the United States and broader North America. This role is critical in driving discovery by identifying economically viable mineral resources and investment opportunities, while supporting regional business development and contributing globally as needed. You will focus on near- to mid-term exploration outcomes (2–5 years), shaping geological strategy, mentoring teams, and influencing high-impact decisions that drive exploration success.

Requirements

  • MSc or PhD in Geology (or related discipline).
  • 15–20+ years of mineral exploration experience, with a strong track record in target generation and discovery.
  • Deep understanding of mineral systems, exploration strategy, and risk management.
  • Proven ability to mentor and develop high-performing technical teams.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with experience engaging across diverse cultural and organizational contexts.
  • Awareness of social, environmental, and regulatory considerations impacting exploration activities.
  • Proficiency in industry-standard geological and exploration software.

Responsibilities

  • Lead identification and evaluation of new exploration opportunities across North America, with additional global support as required.
  • Monitor industry activity and apply advanced geological targeting techniques to generate high-quality prospects.
  • Provide geological interpretation and recommendations for third-party and joint venture opportunities.
  • Develop and refine ranking criteria to prioritize exploration investments.
  • Build and enhance mineral system models at regional and district scales to support targeting and evaluation.
  • Drive continuous improvement in target generation processes to increase discovery success rates.
  • Mentor, coach, and develop exploration professionals, strengthening geological capability across the organization.
  • Provide technical guidance to improve interpretations, modeling, and exploration outcomes.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and scientific rigor within the geological team.
  • Deliver concise monthly updates on activities, performance, and key risks.
  • Contribute to technical reports, presentations, and exploration metrics for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Represent the organization at technical forums, conferences, and industry engagements as required.
  • Ensure full compliance with safety, environmental, legal, and regulatory requirements, including applicable U.S. legislation (e.g., Sarbanes-Oxley Act).
  • Adhere to company policies, budget controls, and corporate values.
  • Support engagement with joint venture partners, landholders, government bodies, and local communities.
  • Maintain required permits, certifications, and professional credentials.
