About The Position

Northrop Grumman is seeking a Sr/Principal Energetics Manufacturing Engineer (Level 3 OR 4) to join their team in Promontory, UT. This role, also known as a Facilities Structural Engineer or Civil Engineer, is responsible for various aspects of structural engineering and project management within the solid rocket propulsion systems sector. The position is 100% onsite and requires the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government security clearance. Requirements

  • Bachelors’ Degree in a STEM discipline with a minimum of 5 years of related experience (Structural/Civil Engineering and Design) OR Masters’ Degree and with 3 years’ of related experience (Structural/Civil Engineering and Design) for Level 3.
  • Bachelors’ Degree in a STEM discipline with a minimum of 8 years of related experience (Structural/Civil Engineering and Design) OR Masters’ Degree and with 6 years’ of related experience (Structural/Civil Engineering and Design) for Level 4.
  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S government security clearance.
  • Skilled with Microsoft Office tools (Level 3).
  • Experienced with AutoCAD.
  • Ability to work in the field, climb ladders, work outside and in congested areas.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office tools (Level 4).
  • Expert level AutoCAD experience (Level 4).

Nice To Haves

  • BS Degree in Structural Engineering
  • RISA 3D preferred
  • MathCAD experience preferred
  • Licensed PE

Responsibilities

  • Perform engineering calculations required for the sizing and arrangement of structural members.
  • Develop details for structural elements, building structures, platforms, equipment supports, pipe bridges and fall protection.
  • Analyzing, designing, and detailing structural elements of steel masonry and concrete buildings.
  • Review architectural systems designs for their inter-relationship with structural elements.
  • Perform code analysis to ensure compliance with appropriate model codes (State building codes, NFPA, IBC etc...)
  • Perform field inspections to determine accurate existing conditions.
  • Perform field surveying.
  • Experience in seismic analysis and/or oversight.
  • Job criteria development, cost estimating, scheduling, job oversight.
  • Project Management of large jobs over multiple disciplines.
