We have an exciting opportunity for a Sr Principal Systems Engineer – Mission Management supporting one of our premier programs on the Aurora campus, where your knowledge of requirements, architecture and design elaboration, systems engineering analyses, verification and validation, and strong customer-facing technical leadership will be put to good use. In this role, you will provide systems engineering and technical leadership across mission management capabilities, including requirements decomposition, interface definition, Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), Agile software development, integration, verification, and validation. The work is on-site in Aurora, CO.

Requirements

  • Typically requires a Bachelor's Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 10 years of prior relevant experience
  • Experience with the systems engineering lifecycle, roles, and functions, with specific experience in one or more of the following areas: Concept of Operations (ConOps) development, requirements definition and management, functional analysis, interface definition and control, and/or verification and validation
  • Experience supporting a government contract with experience in systems engineering or systems integration and test
  • Experience developing modern architectures incorporating DevSecOps and secure cloud environments while integrating mission-critical capabilities across government, contractor, and external systems
  • Active and transferable DoD TS U.S. government-issued security clearance is required prior to start date, with the ability to obtain Special Program Access.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working in an Agile development environment and with Agile development tools such as Jira, Confluence, and Bitbucket
  • Experience leading software and systems engineering across the full development lifecycle, including requirements, architecture, design, integration, verification, deployment, and capability evolution
  • Experience in Development and operational mission management ground systems and experience developing modern architectures incorporating DevSecOps
  • Experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tools, such as Cameo Systems Modeler, and requirements management tools such as DOORS or other requirements databases.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical analyses and define how the system works using Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE)
  • Decompose requirements, define system interfaces, and help determine how requirements will be validated and verified by the test team
  • Provide capability and feature designs to the software engineering team in support of Agile development
  • Provide engineering support for execution of a portion of the program’s test program, including test processes and baseline definition, test architecture design, verification, and validation
  • Support regression testing across deliverable releases to the program baseline
  • Support and attend technical reviews and technical interchange meetings in support of the program
