About The Position

This role is based in Vancouver, BC. You will help redesign how Redis Cloud Platform is deployed and operated across public clouds: GCP, Azure, and AWS. This is a hands-on software engineering role focused on the core infrastructure services behind the platform: control planes, resource lifecycle APIs, provider abstractions, Kubernetes-based orchestration, identity and access patterns, observability integrations, and the operational interfaces used by engineering and SRE teams. You will build systems that sit underneath customer-facing Redis Cloud services and directly influence how Redis provisions, scales, upgrades, monitors, and operates cloud infrastructure at production scale. We are opinionated about using LLMs and AI-assisted development tools as part of modern software engineering. You should be comfortable using these tools to accelerate design exploration, implementation, testing, debugging, documentation, and code review while maintaining strong engineering judgment, code quality, and accountability for what you ship.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience building production-grade software, infrastructure services, distributed systems, or cloud-native platform services.
  • Strong software engineering skills in Go, Java, or Rust, with experience building APIs, services, controllers, or backend systems.
  • Experience designing and operating infrastructure or platform services in production.
  • Hands-on Kubernetes experience in production, including controllers/operators, workloads, networking, storage, upgrades, troubleshooting, and security.
  • Deep experience with at least one major public cloud provider and practical familiarity with multi-cloud architecture across GCP, Azure, and AWS.
  • Strong understanding of cloud infrastructure fundamentals: compute, networking, DNS, load balancing, IAM, storage, private connectivity, and failure domains.
  • Experience with Terraform or similar infrastructure-as-code systems, without treating IaC as the whole job.
  • Experience with observability, SLOs, incident response, and operating customer-facing production systems.
  • Comfort using LLMs and AI-assisted development tools thoughtfully as part of everyday engineering work.
  • Strong ownership mindset and ability to create structure in ambiguous technical areas.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience building cloud platforms, internal developer platforms, control planes, operators, or managed SaaS infrastructure.
  • Experience with Redis Enterprise, Redis Cloud, or other distributed databases.
  • Experience building Kubernetes operators or controllers.
  • Experience with multi-tenant cloud platforms, quotas, policy enforcement, auditability, or provider abstraction layers.
  • Experience with service mesh, multi-cluster networking, private SaaS connectivity, or hybrid cloud deployments.
  • Experience with policy-as-code, compliance automation, or cloud security controls.
  • Experience mentoring engineers or serving as a technical lead for platform initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Design and build core infrastructure services for Redis Cloud Platform, including control plane services that manage provisioning, lifecycle operations, configuration, platform state, and cloud provider integration.
  • Build abstractions that allow Redis Cloud Platform to operate consistently across GCP, Azure, and AWS while still respecting the realities of each provider.
  • Develop production-grade APIs, controllers, operators, and services for Kubernetes-based infrastructure management.
  • Build platform capabilities around tenancy, identity, secrets, networking, service discovery, observability, upgrades, failure recovery, quotas, and auditability.
  • Partner with product engineering, SRE, security, and cloud infrastructure teams to turn platform requirements into reliable production systems.
  • Own the reliability of the services you build through metrics, logs, traces, alerts, SLOs, runbooks, and incident response.
  • Debug complex issues across platform services, Kubernetes, cloud infrastructure, networking, and application workloads.
  • Contribute to technical design reviews and help set engineering standards for Redis Cloud Platform services.

Benefits

  • Equal employment opportunities regardless of race, color, ancestry, religion, sex, national orientation, sexual orientation, age, marital status, disability, gender identity, gender expression, Veteran status, or any other classification protected by federal, state, or local law.
  • A workplace where every voice is heard, and every idea is respected.
  • Access and reasonable accommodation for applicants with mental and/or physical disabilities.
