About The Position

Optimized Payments is seeking a hands-on platform engineering leader to own and scale Harmonize, its payments analytics system of record. The role is responsible for end-to-end platform architecture and delivery across front-end, back-end, and DevOps, with a focus on improving execution speed, reliability, and scalability while supporting rapid innovation, including AI-driven capabilities. The position requires expertise in Java Spring Boot, RESTful API development, React UI components, and Azure DevOps for CI/CD automation and deployment. The role leads platform modernization and technical roadmapping, establishes strong engineering practices, owns Azure-based cloud infrastructure and deployment strategy, and provides technical direction across engineering teams. It directly manages onshore and offshore engineering resources and partners closely with Product, Data/AI, and Data Engineering. This is an Atlanta, Georgia-based position with a hybrid work environment. Applicants must be authorized to work in the U.S. without current or future sponsorship.

Requirements

10+ years of experience in software engineering.
5+ years of experience in leadership roles.
Proven experience owning end-to-end platform development across frontend, backend, and infrastructure.
Experience building responsive, modular front-end components using React and Next.js with modern JavaScript (ES6+).
Experience in database design and familiarity with versioning and migration tools such as Liquibase.
Proficiency managing client-side state with Redux Toolkit or equivalent state-management libraries.
Strong experience with cloud-native architectures; Azure is preferred.
Deep understanding of DevOps, CI/CD, and scalable system design.
Track record of improving execution velocity and engineering discipline.
Expertise in Spring Boot, API development, and building UI/UX components in React.
Experience with Azure DevOps for CI/CD automation and deployment.
Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without current or future sponsorship.

Background in payments, fintech, or high-scale data environments.

Responsibilities

Own the end-to-end architecture and delivery of the Harmonize platform.
Lead front-end and back-end development to ensure scalability, performance, and reliability.
Drive platform modernization and develop a technical roadmap aligned with business priorities.
Design, develop, and maintain RESTful APIs and microservices using Java Spring Boot.
Collaborate with UX/UI designers, backend engineers, and product managers to deliver high-quality features.
Improve the speed, predictability, and quality of releases.
Establish engineering practices for CI/CD, testing, code quality, and observability.
Eliminate operational bottlenecks and reduce manual processes.
Own DevOps, cloud infrastructure, and deployment strategy for the Azure-based stack.
Implement automation and monitoring best practices and ensure platform uptime, security, stability, and enterprise readiness.
Directly manage the Platform Engineer, Senior Developer, and Head of Security onshore, as well as the DevOps Engineer and Azure Cloud Engineer offshore.
Build a high-performance engineering culture focused on ownership, accountability, clear technical direction, and results.
Lead the Architectural Guild Council and provide architectural guidance and technical direction across engineering teams.
Partner with Product, Data/AI, and Data Engineering to align the product roadmap with engineering execution.
