About The Position

Navitus Health Solutions is seeking a Sr. Pharmacy Technician to join our team! Under direction from the Manager and CEC pharmacists, the Sr. Pharmacy Technician is responsible for aiding in the delivery of the Medication Therapy Management (MTM) Program services for commercial and Medicare members. The MTM program will include telephonic and/or video chat outreach with members to complete an analysis of members medication regimen for prescription, OTC, herbal and supplement medications. In addition, the Sr. Pharmacy Technician will assist in additional clinical outreach through the Personalized Member Services program and Academic Detailing programs. The Sr. Pharmacy Technician will be responsible for obtaining and verifying patient information including demographics, allergies, and medication history. The Sr. Pharmacy Technician will focus on answering and placing calls with a warm and professional greeting to new and existing patients and prescribers.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Certified Pharmacy Technician or ability and willingness to become certified
  • Knowledge of healthcare industry practices and HIPAA regulations
  • Participate in, adhere to, and support compliance program objectives
  • The ability to consistently interact cooperatively and respectfully with other employees

Nice To Haves

  • Some college preferred
  • Minimum of two years pharmacy support experience or healthcare environment experience preferred
  • Pharmacy technician or certified nursing assistant experience preferred
  • Professional PBM industry work experience is preferred
  • Knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Place outbound phone calls to members to offer MTM services and other commercial programs outside of traditional MTM
  • Field inbound phone calls from members to initiate MTM or other CEC services
  • Conduct telephonic comprehensive medication interviews and document medications as part of the Medication Therapy Management (MTM) Program
  • Facilitate communication to clients, providers, and internal staff regarding MTM programs and program outcomes
  • Support clinical outreach efforts to members, prescribers, and pharmacy providers in order to enhance care coordination
  • Maintain knowledge of updates and regulations regarding MTM programs and Medicare Part C and D performance measures (STAR ratings)
  • Support all CMS required MTMP Reporting and Data Validation audits
  • Compliance with all applicable HIPAA and CMS regulations
  • Responsible for answering the inbound calls from patients, prescribers, and other healthcare professionals
  • Other duties as assigned
