Certified Pharmacy Technician Sr
About The Position
This position performs advanced pharmacy technician duties and participates in quality and performance improvement initiatives. The role involves acquiring clinical data to support Pharmacists, coordinating special projects, and being responsible for auditing, quality assurance sign-off with barcode scanning, controlled substance oversight, and billing, including Long Term Care (LTC) billing and Medicare D claim adjudication. The Certified Pharmacy Technician Sr will also serve as a resource for automation technology, training, and involvement with IV workflow, carousels, Pyxis, automated dispensing cabinets, troubleshooting, compounding, and robotics. Additionally, the role provides advanced cross-training for dedicated buyers, staff, operating room satellite, and retail. The position may also involve monitoring compliance with regulatory standards and managing inventory and drug shortage optimization.
Requirements
- Currently registered as a pharmacy technician by the Alabama Board of Pharmacy (ALBOP) required.
- Active registration will be required prior to date of hire.
- High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
