About The Position

Join a friendly, team-oriented company seeking a hands-on Payroll Specialist to support a high-volume payroll operation. This is a great opportunity for an experienced payroll professional with union and New York payroll experience who enjoys owning the process and making an immediate impact. This is a contract position based out of Farmingdale, NY. The pay range for this position is $38.00 - $43.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment. Requirements

• 4+ years of end-to-end payroll experience
• Experience with union payroll and collective bargaining agreements
• Multi-state payroll experience, including New York
• Strong payroll reconciliations and garnishment processing experience
• Advanced Excel skills (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP)
• Ability to hit the ground running in a fast-paced environment

Nice To Haves

• JDE (JD Edwards) experience
• Construction, maintenance, transit, or union workforce experience
• Experience supporting quarter-end and year-end payroll activities

Responsibilities

• Process weekly and biweekly payroll accurately and on time
• Manage union payroll, rates, deductions, and contract requirements
• Handle new hires, terminations, employee changes, and garnishments
• Reconcile payroll registers and resolve discrepancies
• Support payroll tax filings, audits, and month-end activities
• Partner with field teams and managers to ensure payroll accuracy
