About The Position

Wabtec is seeking a Senior Oracle DBA to join its Digital Technology team and support mission-critical database and Oracle EBS solutions. The role contributes to global manufacturing solutions by maintaining secure, high-performing, highly available database environments and working with technical and business teams to promote innovation and operational excellence. Candidates must be able to work from one of Wabtec’s office locations. The position reports to the Vice President of DI, Database & Enterprise Tools. The role encompasses administration and architecture for Oracle 19c technologies, including GRID, ASM, Clusterware, database instances, Data Guard, pluggable databases, Oracle Enterprise Manager, Oracle EBS, and cloud databases in AWS and OCI. The architect develops and implements high-availability and disaster-recovery solutions, database security, performance tuning, automation, and migration plans. The position also supports 24/7/365 applications in local data centers and the cloud, manages a general contractor DBA team, and oversees ticketing and incidents in ServiceNow to meet service-level agreements. The employee will normally work in a temperature-controlled office environment, with minimal travel. Relocation assistance is not available. The stated salary range is $104,800–$149,300. The actual offer may depend on factors including skills, experience, education, business needs, market demands, and work location. Requirements

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
10+ years of hands-on experience supporting enterprise Oracle environments (12c or higher).
Expertise in Oracle 19c administration and related tools.
Proven experience implementing Oracle 19c GRID/RAC architecture on Red Hat Enterprise Linux.
Proficiency in SSH, KSH, and BASH scripting.
Advanced Data Guard expertise, including switchover and debugging.
Experience with cloud environment technologies; AWS or OCI preferred.
Knowledge of Oracle security best practices and patching methodologies.
Strong understanding of Oracle tuning and operational support best practices.
Operations mindset, including understanding, implementation, and operation of ITSM at scale.
Ability to work from one of Wabtec’s office locations.

Experience with cloud environment technologies, preferably AWS or OCI.

Responsibilities

Install, upgrade, configure, tune, debug, and patch Oracle 19c technology stack components, including Oracle GRID, ASM, Clusterware, and database instances.
Install, upgrade, configure, tune, and debug Oracle Data Guard.
Monitor and tune cloud databases and components.
Monitor, patch, tune, and debug Oracle EBS.
Monitor database performance and space utilization, identify potential problems, and ensure database availability.
Install, upgrade, configure, and patch Oracle Enterprise Manager 13c.
Install, upgrade, configure, and patch Oracle 19c pluggable database configurations.
Design, implement, and maintain database and database infrastructure security.
Provide evaluation, architecture, and integration skills to support COTS and developed products within the Oracle database framework.
Implement architected high-availability and disaster-recovery solutions to ensure application availability.
Identify and automate repetitive processes to minimize errors and maximize service delivery using Linux scripting, SQL, PL/SQL, and cron jobs.
Communicate effectively with support teams and senior management.
Support 24/7/365 applications based in local data centers and in AWS and OCI cloud environments.
Research technology, support business requirements, propose changes, and develop migration and implementation plans.
Manage the general contractor DBA team to ensure standards are followed and SLAs are met.
Manage ServiceNow ticketing and incidents to ensure SLAs are met or exceeded.
Perform other duties as assigned.
