About The Position

Trident Consulting is seeking an Oracle Database Administrator for a client described as a global leader in business and technology services. This remote contract role focuses on administering Oracle databases and Oracle GoldenGate replication across development, test, and production environments. The position supports reliable, secure, and high-performing database services for critical business applications, with responsibilities spanning replication architecture, monitoring, capacity planning, backup and recovery, troubleshooting, change management, performance tuning, and operational documentation.

Responsibilities

Design and implement Oracle GoldenGate replication architectures to ensure consistent real-time data availability for critical business applications.
Administer Oracle databases across development, test, and production environments, maintaining performance, reliability, and security.
Monitor database and replication health using enterprise tools and scripts to identify issues early and prevent service disruption.
Perform capacity planning for databases and GoldenGate components, supporting business growth while optimizing resource use and infrastructure costs.
Develop and maintain runbooks and operational procedures for consistent and efficient incident resolution.
Execute database backup, recovery, and cloning activities to safeguard data and support testing with minimal downtime.
Troubleshoot complex replication and database incidents by analyzing logs, performance metrics, and configuration details.
Implement database and GoldenGate configuration changes through defined change management processes.
Collaborate with application teams on database schemas, replication strategies, and integration approaches aligned with functional and reporting needs.
Optimize SQL queries, indexes, and database parameters to improve transaction throughput, reporting performance, and system responsiveness.
Coordinate environment refreshes, patching cycles, and version upgrades while minimizing impact on business operations.
Document architecture diagrams, configuration baselines, and operational standards for the wider technology organization.
Conduct root cause analysis after incidents and implement preventive improvements to strengthen resilience and customer trust.
