About The Position

We are seeking a Sr. Operations Support Specialist to join our team supporting the Los Alamos National Laboratory! This position is full-time and will be based out of Los Alamos, New Mexico.

Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree in engineering or science and 8+ years of relevant experience and, 5 years of directly applicable experience in Radiation Protection and/or work planning in a DOE Cat 2 nuclear facility.; additional, relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
Must be a United States (U.S.) citizen.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a government issued clearance, if needed.
Experience in a DOE Category 2 nuclear facility or equivalent high-hazard nuclear environment.
Strong background in Radiation Protection and work control systems.

Nice To Haves

U.S. Nuclear Navy experience
DOE plutonium facility experience
Strong Conduct of Operations (ConOps) knowledge

Responsibilities

Provide expert technical opinions on Radiation Protection issues.
Support design, construction, startup, operations, and maintenance activities in high-hazard systems.
Integrate Radiation Protection requirements into work planning and execution.
Perform independent technical reviews and assessments of RP programs and field work.
Provide guidance to project teams on complex technical and safety issues.
Interface with management and customer representatives.
Lead and coordinate project teams across functional organizations.
Supervise senior personnel within the project organization.
Develop and enforce work standards, schedules, and quality expectations.
Communicate organizational goals, policies, and procedures to staff and teams.
