Sr Operational Resiliency Lead

MoneyGram
$135,000 - $255,000

About The Position

The Senior Operational Resiliency Lead is a senior, hands-on individual contributor accountable for advancing MoneyGram's global business continuity, disaster recovery, and operational resiliency capabilities. This role will lead the day-to-day execution and continued maturation of the enterprise BC/DR program, serve as the primary functional administrator for the newly implemented Fusion Risk Management platform, and partner directly with business and technology teams to improve preparedness and recoverability across critical services. The ideal candidate combines strong program leadership with practical execution. They can translate business priorities and technology dependencies into actionable recovery strategies, facilitate challenging cross-functional decisions, maintain high-quality program data, and drive work to completion without relying on formal authority. This is not a people-manager role. It is designed for a senior practitioner who can independently lead an enterprise program, influence executives and subject-matter experts, and remain close to the details required for effective execution.

Requirements

  • Eight or more years of progressive experience in business continuity, disaster recovery, operational resiliency, technology risk, crisis management, or a closely related discipline, including significant ownership of an enterprise program.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead complex cross-functional initiatives as an individual contributor and to influence business and technology leaders without direct authority.
  • Hands-on experience conducting business impact analyses, developing continuity and technology recovery plans, defining recovery strategies, and leading exercises or recovery tests.
  • Working knowledge of enterprise technology environments and recovery concepts, including applications, infrastructure, cloud and SaaS services, networks, data, identity, third parties, RTOs, RPOs, service dependencies, failover, and restoration sequencing.
  • Experience administering or serving as a power user of a business continuity or operational resilience SaaS platform; ability and willingness to perform routine platform administration, data stewardship, reporting, user support, and configuration activities.
  • Strong facilitation, program management, analytical, documentation, and executive communication skills, with the judgment to balance strategic priorities and hands-on execution.
  • Experience operating in a large, complex, regulated, or global environment.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of relevant education, training, and professional experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Direct experience administering Fusion Risk Management or similar automation platform, including workflows, plan and BIA modules, data relationships, dashboards, reporting, user access, notifications, and platform support.
  • Experience in financial services, payments, fintech, or another highly regulated and operationally critical industry.
  • Familiarity with operational resilience and continuity expectations such as NY DFS, DORA, ISO 22301, NIST guidance, or comparable global regulatory frameworks.
  • Professional certification such as CBCP, MBCP, CBCI, MBCI, CRISC, CISM, or a comparable continuity, resilience, risk, or technology credential.
  • Experience with crisis management, emergency notification, IT service management, configuration management, third-party risk, or enterprise architecture data.

Responsibilities

  • Own the day-to-day operation and continuous improvement of MoneyGram's global business continuity and disaster recovery program, including annual planning, governance routines, standards, methodologies, and program deliverables.
  • Maintain an integrated program roadmap that prioritizes the resiliency of critical business services, supporting processes, applications, infrastructure, third parties, facilities, and workforce dependencies.
  • Lead cross-functional working sessions, challenge incomplete assumptions, resolve gaps, and drive accountable owners toward agreed milestones.
  • Translate risk, regulatory expectations, and operational lessons into practical program improvements that strengthen resilience without creating unnecessary process burden.
  • Serve as the primary functional administrator and internal subject-matter expert for the Fusion Risk Management SaaS solution, supporting users and maintaining the platform's day-to-day effectiveness.
  • Manage user access, role assignments, workflows, notifications, templates, questionnaires, data structures, dashboards, reports, and routine configuration changes in partnership with appropriate platform and technology support teams.
  • Maintain data quality and relationships across business services, processes, applications, recovery plans, dependencies, owners, vendors, locations, recovery objectives, exercises, and issues.
  • Partner and support the integration into adjacent technology platforms such as ServiceNow CMDB/CSDM
  • Provide user guidance, training, troubleshooting, and adoption support; develop clear procedures and job aids that help plan owners use the platform effectively.
  • Coordinate upgrades, release review, enhancement requests, defect resolution, and vendor support; identify opportunities to automate additional activities and improve consistency and coverage.
  • Lead business impact analyses and continuity planning across critical business functions, ensuring recovery priorities, minimum service levels, upstream and downstream dependencies, workarounds, staffing requirements, communications, and recovery strategies are complete and supportable.
  • Partner with business leaders to identify concentration risks, single points of failure, critical third-party dependencies, and resilience gaps, then facilitate realistic remediation plans.
  • Coordinate plan reviews, approvals, attestations, and lifecycle updates so plans remain current and usable rather than compliance-only artifacts.
  • Support continuity and recovery activities during disruptive events, capture lessons learned, and ensure corrective actions are assigned, tracked, and closed.
  • Partner directly with application owners, infrastructure, cloud, network, database, architecture, security, product, engineering, and service management teams to maintain credible disaster recovery strategies and plans.
  • Validate that business requirements are translated into defined recovery time objectives (RTOs), recovery point objectives (RPOs), service restoration priorities, technical dependencies, recovery procedures, and testing scope.
  • Facilitate recovery planning for complex and interconnected services, including legacy, cloud, SaaS, hybrid, data, identity, network, and third-party dependencies.
  • Identify misalignment between business recovery requirements and demonstrated technical capabilities, clearly communicate the associated risk, and drive risk treatment or formal acceptance.
  • Develop and maintain a risk-based, multi-year exercise and testing strategy covering business continuity plans, technology recovery, crisis coordination, third-party disruption, and critical service scenarios.
  • Plan and facilitate tabletop exercises, simulations, walkthroughs, failover and recovery tests, and integrated business-technology exercises; define objectives and success criteria, document lessons, and drive corrective actions through closure; and involve critical third parties where needed.
  • Maintain program policies, standards, procedures, control evidence, and audit-ready records aligned with MoneyGram's risk management framework and applicable regulatory obligations.
  • Develop meaningful metrics and executive reporting on program coverage, plan currency, BIA completion, recovery capability, testing outcomes, issues, exceptions, and risk trends.
  • Support internal and external audits, regulatory examinations, customer inquiries, and risk assessments by coordinating evidence and clearly explaining program design and effectiveness.
  • Provide concise, decision-oriented updates to senior leaders and governance forums, including clear escalation of material gaps, overdue commitments, and emerging resilience risks.
