Requirements

  • High School/GED.
  • Two years job related experience.
  • Strong computer and typing skills (minimum 30 WPM).
  • Knowledgeable in Microsoft Word.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Good interpersonal skills and the ability to deal effectively with the public, other employees, elected officials and outside agencies.
  • Ability to learn and comprehend established office routines and policies from oral and written instructions, including financial and mathematical tasks.
  • Understanding of ethics and confidential issues.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a legal, government or public-facing office preferred.
  • Bilingual (English-Spanish) preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Records, reviews, files and inputs data to computer database.
  • Collects data in response to inquiries from merchants, public, defense attorneys, and fellow employees.
  • Maintains files in an accurate and efficient manner.
  • Fills in data information in the preparation of warrants; assists defendants with affidavits; responds to defendant and defendant’s attorney inquiries.
  • Exchanges information with different arresting agencies, court secretaries, prosecutors, and County Clerk personnel.
  • Retrieves data from database and paper files as part of discovery compliance.
  • Greet the public, attorneys, law enforcement personnel and staff in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Answer, screen, and route incoming phone calls accurately and efficiently.
  • Provide general information to the public while adhering to confidentiality and legal guidelines.
  • Receive and distribute mail, subpoenas and legal documents.
  • Maintain front desk coverage and manage visitors while maintaining cleanliness and organization of the reception area.
  • Maintain office logs, directories and contact lists.
  • Assist administrative staff with date entry, copying scanning and other clerical tasks.
  • Participates in activities and duties related to emergency management during a local state of disaster as directed by appropriate county managers.
