Sr. Network Solutions Architect
About The Position
Lumen Solutions Group Inc. is a Florida-based technology consulting services company that provides experienced business and IT professionals for solution design, implementation, and support. Its services include IT consulting and staffing, business and IT strategy, business process blueprints, enterprise architecture, and enterprise transformation. The company is seeking a Senior Network Solutions Architect to design scalable, reliable enterprise network solutions for large-scale IT infrastructure and construction-related projects. The role requires hands-on expertise in enterprise network architecture, routing, switching, and infrastructure design, as well as the ability to work with engineering teams, business stakeholders, and enterprise architects throughout the project lifecycle. The position is a contract role located in Washington, DC, and is remote.
Requirements
- Minimum 10 years of relevant network operations experience.
- Minimum 10 years of experience across multiple IT areas.
- Strong hands-on enterprise routing and switching architecture and engineering capabilities.
- Deep understanding of BGP, EIGRP, and OSPF.
- Experience designing complex enterprise network solutions.
- Ability to develop technical network designs and infrastructure documentation.
- Bachelor's degree, specialized training, or equivalent professional experience.
Nice To Haves
- Experience designing network infrastructure for multiple large-scale, heterogeneous IT programs.
- Experience with enterprise switches and wireless access points (WAPs).
- Knowledge of enterprise architecture frameworks and architectural modeling.
- Understanding of service-oriented architecture (SOA), enterprise information management, and software design.
- Transportation industry experience.
- Strong stakeholder communication and technical presentation skills.
Responsibilities
- Design and architect enterprise network infrastructure solutions across complex IT environments.
- Provide hands-on technical expertise in routing and switching, including BGP, EIGRP, and OSPF.
- Develop network architecture diagrams, topologies, and infrastructure designs.
- Produce Bills of Materials (BOMs) for capital infrastructure projects.
- Develop and review Wi-Fi and cellular coverage heatmaps for physical locations.
- Provide technical design reviews at the 15%, 30%, 60%, 90%, and 100% completion stages for construction projects.
- Prepare Statements of Work (SOWs) and technical documentation.
- Collaborate with enterprise architecture, engineering, and infrastructure teams to ensure technical standards are met.
- Participate throughout the project lifecycle, from initial requirements gathering through design and implementation.
- Present proposed network solutions to internal stakeholders for technical review and approval.
