About The Position

The HPC Sr. Networking engineer will be responsible for – Analysis of TCP/IP issues, system tuning and troubleshooting, and data transfer application troubleshooting. Network testing, integration, and maintenance/operational support. Maintains routine data network hardware and systems; investigates, resolves and/or escalates network and hardware matters of significance; researches, analyzes and isolates errors. Provides advanced technical support on data networks for both on-prem and cloud integrations along with handling the Biogen Turbot environment with answering routine technical questions; Installs and maintains network infrastructure, including hardware, software, and system data for high-performance networks. Installs network applications on network servers; maintains, tests, researches and resolves problems. Configuration of network ports, switches, LACP, bonding, and high availability network designs. Reviews SNMP alerts, use protocol-line analyzers (sniffers) and conducts log forensics in order to determine root cause analysis and resolution of complex issues. Determines appropriate standard testing routines. May test various network-related equipment such as routers, switches, or optical equipment or multi-function switches, etc. for maintenance. Prepares data network diagrams and drawings to document and assist in communicating current operation status of networks. With full alignment of Biogen Network team, Advanced Computing Sr. Network Engineer performs network equipment configurations and configuration changes of various data equipment such as routers, switches, etc. to enhance performance. After hours/weekend support as required. The candidate will work directly with other server and service owners to ensure reliability and sustainability of the infrastructure specific to these groups for high performance computing (including CPU and GPU clusters), running MPI jobs under SGE, migrating jobs and data to AWS cloud environment. Biogen is seeking a highly talented Sr. Network Engineer to support the on premise and cloud networking needs of High Performance Computing (HPC) Environment and Enterprise Data Lake (EDL) for the scientific user community under R&D department at Biogen.

  • Working experience on HPC Clustering (Univa Grid Engine), high throughput switching.
  • Ability to build / manage / debug storage gateway and troubleshoot on-prem to cloud synchronization mechanisms for deriving optimum thro
