About The Position

The successful candidate will excel at project-based work, service design, advanced troubleshooting, defining operational procedures, and managing the relationship with our hosting provider's Network Security team. The candidate will provide critical input on the strategy and development of network solutions. The team you will be joining is a part of Charles River Development (or CRD), that became a part of State Street in 2018. CRD helps create enterprise investment management software solutions for large institutions in the areas of institutional investment, wealth management and hedge funds. Together we have created first open front-to-back platform - State Street Alpha, that was launched in 2019.

Requirements

  • Be self-motivated and flexible, ability to prioritize and multi-task on multiple highly visible and complex projects.
  • Work independently and efficiently to meet deadlines
  • Maintain advanced knowledge and experience with network security standards.
  • Able to work within a defined change management process and willingness to participate in periodic after-hours scheduled maintenance
  • Bachelor degree in Information Technology or related field of study with a network engineering focus.
  • Substantial experience as a network engineering or network security professional
  • Substantial IT operational support experience
  • Deep knowledge of IP protocols, routing, VLANs, DNS, NAT
  • Proficiency with one or more scripting languages, automation and DevOps tools
  • Excellent communication (oral and written), interpersonal, organizational, and presentation skills with an ability to represent complex data in executive level graphical reporting dashboards

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with Azure firewalls, routing, and NSGs would be a plus

Responsibilities

  • Design operational standards for firewall configurations, network change requests, documentation, and performance troubleshooting procedures.
  • Maintain and administer secure, auditable, on-premise and cloud-based firewall configurations that adhere to internal policies and standards.
  • Evaluate emerging network management and monitoring tools and related products.
  • Participate in client-facing network design meetings to facilitate establishing connectivity to CRD SaaS services in managed datacenter and cloud environments.
  • Perform various IT system support and system administration tasks as needed.
