About The Position

The Workforce Lead role is responsible for end-to-end workforce planning, staffing strategy, and vendor management across the growing Optum Rx & OFS Technology portfolio. This role partners with senior technology leaders and enterprise stakeholders—including Sourcing & Procurement, Finance, Human Resources, Talent Acquisition (TA), and Governance—to develop and execute a hiring and staffing strategy that aligns with financial targets, labor models, and geographic objectives. The Workforce Lead brings a solid understanding of technology roles, workforce economics, and financial acumen to balance demand, capacity, cost, and delivery outcomes across a complex, multi-stakeholder environment. You’ll enjoy the flexibility to work remotely from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges. For all hires in the Minneapolis or Washington, D.C. area, you will be required to work in the office a minimum of four days per week.

Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience
  • 8+ years of experience supporting large-scale technology portfolios within healthcare, financial services, or other highly regulated environments
  • Demonstrated familiarity with global workforce models and geographic labor strategies
  • Experience operating within formal workforce governance and approval frameworks
  • Strategic workforce planning experience

Responsibilities

  • Partner with Optum Rx Technology senior leadership to design portfolio-level staffing strategies aligned to financial plans, geographic distribution goals, and delivery roadmaps
  • Translate business demand into actionable workforce plans across FTE, contractor, SOW, and global delivery models, consistent with Optum Technology workforce governance standards
  • Provide forward-looking insights on workforce capacity, skills demand, and sourcing mix to support leadership decision-making
  • Ensure technology solutions are managed to support business strategies, often working with senior management
  • Direct the integration of technical aspects of all related projects/programs
  • Conduct analyses, needs assessments, and cost/benefit assessments and helping to broker other technology services
  • Monitor financials to ensure budget compliance
