About The Position

The Sr. Manager of Retail Commercial (Merchandising) leads the in-market execution and integration of retail commercial strategies across assigned parks, stores, and destinations, translating global merchandising, planning, and retail guest experience strategies into actionable assortment, inventory, and assortment plans that drive revenue, margin, and guest satisfaction. Reporting to the VP, Retail Commercial Strategy, this role owns area-level retail performance and serves as the primary link integrating the strategic direction into store execution. Partners cross-functionally across Merchandising, Planning, Retail Operations, Visual/Creative, and Store Design to ensure alignment of product, space, and storytelling to deliver a cohesive and high-performing retail experience. This position currently has a hybrid schedule, which requires contributing from the office a minimum of four days per week. The Company reserves the right to change in-office requirements at any time.

Requirements

  • 8+ years in Operational and Field/Location/Merchandising Management required; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Bachelor’s Degree is required.

Responsibilities

  • Execute retail commercial strategies at the park and location level, aligning with global merchandise and local financial and guest experience goals.
  • Influence and drive topline performance for assigned areas, including per cap, revenue, margin, and productivity metrics (sales per square foot/per item/per face-out).
  • Translate guest, location, and seasonal strategies into localized assortment, pricing, and promotional plans.
  • Identify in-season risks and opportunities in performance and lead timely course correction.
  • Lead the development and execution of location-specific assortments aligned to guest demographics, brand/theme profile, category, and seasonal needs.
  • Partner with Global Merchandising, Inventory Planning, and Brand Management to influence product selection, depth, and lifecycle decisions.
  • Partner in the development and execution of a consignment plan to fill assortment gaps and drive incremental revenue that is integrated with the global merchandise strategy.
  • Ensure product mix supports both commercial performance and brand storytelling.
  • Own the SKU to fixture process to support reporting, analytics and plan-o-grams.
  • Partner with Planning to align inventory strategies with commercial goals, ensuring in-stock levels, flow, and allocation support demand.
  • Oversee inventory movement, lifecycle management, and exit strategies (markdowns, liquidation, rebalancing).
  • Utilize data and reporting (sell-through, days of supply, trends) to optimize inventory productivity across the destination to reduce risk and ensure product is in the right place at the right time.
  • Ensure strong controls are in place to minimize shrink and improve inventory accuracy.
  • Direct the execution of merchandising strategies, including adjacency planning, store profiles, SKU-to-fixture, space optimization, and re-merchandising initiatives.
  • Partner with Visual Merchandising and Brand/Product teams to ensure product presentation aligns with brand storytelling and enhances the guest journey.
  • Influence store layouts and fixture strategies in partnership with Store Design to maximize commercial impact.
  • Ensure consistency and quality of execution across all locations.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between Retail Commercial, Operations, Global Merchandising, Inventory Planning, Visual/Creative, and Marketing.
  • Ensure alignment between product, space, and experience across all retail touchpoints.
  • Support new store openings, refurbishments, and concept evolution by integrating commercial strategy into execution.
  • Maintain strong field presence to gather real-time insights on guest behavior, trends, and competitive landscape.
  • Translate insights into actionable recommendations that inform broader commercial strategies.
  • Act as the voice of the field to influence decision-making at the VP level.
  • Lead and develop Field Merchandise Managers and teams, fostering a commercially focused and high-performance culture.
  • Drive adoption of tools, reporting, and processes that enhance decision-making and execution.
  • Ensure training and development initiatives support operational excellence and commercial acumen.
  • Understand and actively participate in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UDX policy, procedures, training, and team member involvement activities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
