About The Position

We are seeking a digitally minded finance leader who combines strategic business partnership, financial expertise, analytical rigor, and technology-enabled innovation to help shape the future of the Plasma Power business and the Finance function at Advanced Energy through data-driven insights and recommendations. The Senior Manager, Finance serves as a trusted advisor to Plasma Power leadership and drives planning, forecasting, performance management, decision support, portfolio analysis, and profitable growth initiatives. The successful candidate will be highly analytical, detail oriented, intellectually curious, and comfortable independently translating complex financial, commercial, and operational data into clear recommendations. They will challenge assumptions, apply critical thought, create compelling visualizations, and responsibly experiment with automation and AI-enabled tools to improve productivity, decision quality, and Finance effectiveness in a growing company.

  • 10+ years of progressive finance experience, including meaningful experience in FP&A, business unit finance, commercial finance, manufacturing finance, cost management, or related roles.
  • Experience partnering with senior business leaders and supporting: Strategic planning, Annual operating plans, Forecasting, Performance management, Executive analysis, Cross-functional profitability initiatives, Process improvement initiatives.
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, Data Analytics, or a related field required.
  • MBA preferred.
  • CPA preferred.
  • CMA preferred.
  • Other relevant advanced degrees or professional certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a key finance partner to Plasma Power leadership, influencing decisions across growth, portfolio, pricing, resource allocation, customer opportunities, new product investments, capacity, margin expansion, and long-term value creation.
  • Lead forecasting, annual operating plan, strategic planning, and recurring performance management for the assigned Plasma Power scope, with ownership of key drivers across revenue, margin, operating expenses, working capital, capital investment, and cash flow.
  • Partner with Product Management, Sales, Operations, Engineering, Supply Chain, and Corporate Finance to connect financial outcomes to business strategy, operational execution, and cross-functional accountability.
  • Identify risks and opportunities early, quantify financial impacts, pressure-test assumptions, and recommend practical actions that improve profitability, operational performance, and decision outcomes.
  • Develop scalable financial models, scenario analyses, sensitivity views, dashboards, and executive visualizations that convert complex or ambiguous data into actionable insights.
  • Use data storytelling to clearly communicate performance trends, root causes, tradeoffs, risks, opportunities, and recommended actions to financial and non-financial audiences.
  • Define and improve KPIs, reporting cadence, data quality, and analytical consistency to increase business visibility, accountability, and speed to insight.
  • Champion digital-first ways of working by leveraging analytics, visualization, automation, process redesign, and AI-enabled tools to improve forecasting, reporting, analysis, summarization, and knowledge sharing.
  • Identify manual, repetitive, or low-value Finance activities and lead efforts to automate, simplify, standardize, or eliminate work while maintaining appropriate data discipline, control awareness, and confidentiality.
  • Partner with Finance, IT, and business stakeholders to modernize data flows, reporting processes, and analytical capabilities while fostering continuous improvement and practical innovation.
  • Apply structured problem solving and critical thinking to test hypotheses, identify root causes, and focus leadership on the few drivers that matter most.
  • Maintain strong attention to detail while connecting analysis to broader business implications and executive-level narratives that move discussions from reporting to action.
  • Lead through influence, credibility, expertise, and collaboration; coach or mentor finance talent as assigned and model a culture of accountability, follow-through, learning, innovation, and business ownership.
