Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required. 10 years of hospital facility management experience may be substituted
  • 5+ years management in hospital facilities engineering required
  • Valid VA Driver’s License
  • Demonstrated track record of collaboration and exceeding expectations
  • Experience managing facilities infrastructure projects
  • In-depth knowledge of MEP system, life safety codes/requirements
  • Contract negotiation skills
  • Ability to motivate and develop staff

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with The Joint Commission (TJC) surveys.

Responsibilities

  • Oversees daily activities of the Facilities department for UVA Prince William Medical Center, UVA Haymarket Medical Center and Culpeper Medical Center
  • Acts as Project Manager for Facilities capital projects
  • Leads and develops competencies for all Facilities personnel
  • Assisting Director with maintenance contracts
  • Analyzes processes and creates deliverables to provide information and recommendations for improvements.
  • Breaks down problems and issues into sub-components and assesses the costs, benefits, and risks of various options
  • Is able to select and recommend the best solution based on a thorough examination of all considerations
  • Is able to explain and justify actions in a systematic and logical fashion
  • Shares and receives information using clear oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Demonstrates effective written and oral communication skills
