Requirements

  • High school/GED and 2 years of manufacturing, maintenance and/or military experience Or Associate’s degree and 6 months of manufacturing, maintenance and/or military experience

Nice To Haves

  • 4 years of manufacturing, maintenance and/or military experience.
  • Degree or certification in Electronic Engineering, Electric Technology, Mechanical Engineering, or Industrial Mechanics
  • Experience in pharmaceutical, medical device, or biotech manufacturing
  • Familiarity with packaging or process equipment maintenance
  • Previous experience as a Mechanic Operator
  • Strong troubleshooting and mechanical skills
  • Ability to work non-standard shifts
  • Excellent organizational and documentation skills
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal) (Spanish & English) preferred

Responsibilities

  • Proactively identify, diagnose, and resolve mechanical and automated issues on manufacturing lines using SOPs, technical manuals, and collaboration with engineers.
  • Partner with engineers to implement preventative maintenance strategies and contribute to equipment upgrades and process improvements.
  • Consistently follow and enforce current Good Manufacturing Practices, Standard Operating Procedures, and safety guidelines to maintain a compliant and safe work environment.
  • Maintain precise and timely documentation of maintenance activities, validations, and repairs in both written and digital formats (e.g., EBR, MAXIMO).
  • Act as a technical resource by sharing expertise, training junior mechanics, and fostering a collaborative learning environment.
  • Track key performance indicators (e.g., OEE), analyze data trends, and apply root cause analysis (e.g., 5 Whys) to drive operational excellence.
  • Collaborate with engineers, automation teams, and equipment vendors during installations, validations, and troubleshooting efforts.
  • Provide detailed line status updates during shift changeovers and ensure seamless handoffs of ongoing issues or maintenance tasks.
  • Create, review, and prioritize work orders using systems like MAXIMO and Smartsheet, aligning with production schedules and business impact.
  • Take ownership of assigned equipment, follow through on commitments, and proactively seek clarity or support when needed to ensure task completion.
