A role in Buying means working with several diverse vendors to choose the best product mix, both in-store and online. We help determine where to localize, while calibrating market positioning and acting as brand managers. Here, you’ll own a wide SKU count so that your work is varied and challenging. Through cross-functional collaboration, instinct and creativity, you will be the expert on the guest, the market and the competition. As a Sr Merchandise Specialist supporting your categories for in-store and online channels, you'll provide key executional support to both our merchandise buying and planning teams. You will be integral to new vendor setup and to maintaining item and vendor data across many SKUs. You will proactively communicate on behalf of the department in meetings and via email, acting as the liaison for Import Operations, Transportation, Store Ops and vendors. You will also help coordinate samples and solve problems with our supply chain partners to ensure successful product flow through our network. Merchandise Specialist supports Kids Apparel in Seasonal, Basics, Accessories, and Uniforms Work with National Brands, Studios in License Properties and Target Owned Brands Collaborate with and gain exposure to many merchants and business units Job duties may change at any time due to business needs.

Requirements

  • Four-year degree or equivalent work experience
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks
  • Detail-oriented multitasker
  • High sense of urgency and takes initiative as a self-starter
  • Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and efficiently
